So glad we stayed here, room has character and we were shown great hospitality, amazing cooked breakfast. I definitely recommend a treatment, I had the hour de-stress massage, it was so relaxing. The place is just a short walk to town so was perfect location. Hosts could not be more friendly, would stay here again

Great place to stay

We considered leaving when we had spent less than an hour in The Dairy. We were surprised that this place had been licensed as accommodation. There was a smell of (presumably) the septic system at all times, we had to search for the firewood, the kitchen was akin to an op-shop collection and there was no-one on site to ask for assistance. We would have had a more pleasant stay in our shed at home.

Not recommended

Argyle's offers 4 B&B cottages. We stayed overnight at the Tuscan Cottage...All the cottages are situated on the winery property.  The building itself is fine, although it could use just a little love.  It's setting is designed to be rustic.  The building certainly has some history to it. Some areas like the kitchen are poorly appointed.  It lacked basics like knives (bread knife, carving knife etc), bit of a task cutting bread with a veggie knife, tea bags and coffee sachets  only.:-(   Breakfast/dinner baskets etc are available for extra cost.
The master room is nice, although the bed is incorrectly orientated - no power point on one side, no bed lamp either.  I found the bed (king size) comfortable although mattress may be too hard for some.
Shower/bathroom is fine - mirror in an awkward spot though.  Didn't use the spa.
The local critters (possums) are cute, however they have access to the roof cavity and create quite a disturbance all night, so don't be a light sleeper.
The peace and quiet is fantastic however, as are the owners...very friendly and knowledgeable of their historic buildings.  The wood fire is great once it gets going, however there are other forms of heating/cooling.  The mooing of the cows is relaxing.  The chickens are great!
If you're only staying one or two nights, it would possibly suit.  I wouldn't stay long term.  Probably better for couples, than with kids.
If you're looking for peace & quiet, where you can sit around, read a book, enjoy a wine, then you might enjoy the Tuscan.  Overall this property just wasn't what I imagined.

Disappointing

Enjoyable one night stay with a large relaxing Spa. We felt very welcomed by the hostess to our private getaway amongst the trees and birds. We would certainly recommend this little hideaway to our friends.

Cosy and Peaceful

My Wife and I are Big travellers, 5 times to Europe and UK 5 times to Canada USA and also a lot of trips to Asia. I am not bragging, however I think this gives me the right to comment on what is good and bad re accommodations.  We found this accommodation very disappointing for the costs charged.   I would only rate in just! on a good scale! Stayed over a long weekend , however felt ripped of for the price.  We stayed in the old 3 Bedroom House, while I can understand what there trying to achieve as far as a rustic look in concerned! the whole place is in urgent need of serious maintenance to bring it up to standards with other cottages both in this region and elsewhere.  I could go into more detail but  I feel all could be addressed owners in an overall spruce up!  You definitely could not charge the amount they where asking until you look at other offers if their Accommodations stay in there present state.
