Very old and dirty. Toilet  hadn’t been cleaned Electric blanket didn’t work. Air conditioner barely worked. Lighting very poor. TV kept moving off of channel and unwatchable.  A bad experience. Would not use again.

DINGY ROOM - A dark and dingy room - sleeps three people yet only had one central light and one bed light - bring your own power leads and power boards, and your own lighting
INTERNET - is available - but is so poor that every site we visited timed out - bring your own Internet
LINEN - looked very old, very grey in colour, and were not even freshly laundered 
OVERALL - Very disappointed / Not recommended at all

Disappointed

Hard to get accommodation but got a room at the Wintersun. The outside and gardens are in a sad state of repair with weeds knee high at the front entrance and overgrown trees and shrubs at the side entrance. Needs a good clean up to be a bit more inviting to guests. Older accommodation which was dark and dingy. Good location with easy access to the beach and town centre and price reflected the standard.

Had plenty of room to park the trailer boat. This is why chosen. Stayed 3 nights.
Building is dated but rooms are very clean and comfortable. Everything in good working order. No problems.
Reception friendly and welcoming.
Definitely recommend.

Good value

First impressions were poor, with overgrown trees and weeds everywhere. Not very inviting. Rooms need updating and very dark. Price was ok but would not recommend this motel. Location was good on the coast across the road from the beach.

Needs a bit of TLC

My wife and I stayed overnight as part of a weekend trip to Victor Harbor. The location was good, close to the beach and town centre. Even though it was on the main road leading to the town there was no problem with traffic noise. The grounds were basically a gravel car park that may be a problem for families with young children if they were using the motel as a holiday home. 
The downstairs room we stayed in was clean and comfortable and quite generous size with a comfortable king size bed. Service was excellent when we booked (by phone) and when we checked in. The continental breakfast was placed in our room the previous night and was a standard no frills breakfast. 
We were very happy with our stay there. Great value for money. Wintersun will become our first choice when staying in Victor Harbor in the future.

Clean, comfortable and value for money.

We arrived at this motel around 20 o'clock. The reception was closed, dark... having booked online we thought they wouldn't close so soon! We'll notice on the way to the trip that everything in Australia closes at 5 o'clock! Even the hotel receptions... or better motel. After a lot of insistence with the bell, a Chinese woman appears in front of us in a pink hat and face mask that x luck assigns us our rooms. Mine, very old like all the others! I think the motel hasn't undergone any renovation since it was built around the 1970s.

We found the Wintersun to be great value and all staff we met were helpful. While the facilities are older style, the photos are clear about what to expect. Everything worked well and our room was clean. At the end of the day who cares if the floor tiles are a bit old if all you need is a comfortable bed, a cup of tea and a good program on TV. Only thing was that the new fridge was for cooling only and had no freezer. There was wifi, but instructions for accessing it were not in the compendium. It was convenient to park right outside our room. The adjacent road can be busy, but quietens down in the evening. The Wintersun is a short distance to all central facilities. 

Great Value

We stayed here in Jan 2019 for 5 nights, in room 11.  The motel is dated, cabinets are old and could do with replacing. However, the bed was comfy, if you like a medium/softish bed. Room was clean, bathroom very clean, staff friendly, although the office hours were a bit hit and miss. It is close to town, so convenient position.
We live in the country and found the traffic noise too much for a good night sleep.  It is on quite a busy main road into town, for us, not conducive to a peaceful nights sleep.  The aircon did drown out the traffic noise to a degree.
Although a fairly comfortable stay, we wouldn't stay here again, purely because of the traffic noise.

Sadly booked at late notice and prepaid so was unable to get out of staying in this 70's style motel, nothing has been done since that era. Was tiny family room with zero privacy. Terrible water pressure, and smallest kitchen sink. The smell of room was dreadful, we spent as little time as possible in room itself and was grateful to check out. Victor Harbor itself is a lively little town.
