The photos are very very old because this dump is nothing like those pictures. 
Sagging bed, old tired worn out room, old drapes and rotting walls. 
Spa and pool green and not in use.  Carpet worn and torn. No restaurant, no pool room, decor old and decrepit! Shower curtain, not even a screen. Crockery dirty and kitchenette unkempt and old. We have the balcony too ourselves we were told wouldn't use it anyway. Absolute disgrace.

Look, of course it’s old and has suffered under Covid but it‘s price reflects this. It has however excellent hot water, microwave, fridge and the room I stayed in happily for 4 nights was large and clean. (and no hideous cleaning fumes).  The owners were very helpful and caring when I missed my flight and also provided extra cooking utensils when asked, no problems.  Very central and 3 min walk to two supermarkets and 5 min to Information Centre.  10 min walk to beach.  I would definitely stay here again and I was very pleased that it was pretty full during my stay. I am happy to support the owners and would definitely stay again.

Central, great price, excellent hosts

Fitted us in last minute and Was so easy to deal with. Very helpful and friendly staff 
Room was comfy and close to everything, food, beaches and shopping.

Great value and very friendly staff

We booked this motel because our other options were not available. We also made the mistake of booking two nights. It was like stepping back into 1970, but a really bad 1970. The room smelt, The toilet was dirty, everything was old and run down. We thought it was only for two nights and all we are doing is sleeping there. Wrong? The curtains did not close properly, the window in the tea making area only had a very thin curtain. The lights from the area and carpark lights invaded the room. The lights went out at 5.30am, how do I know? I laid awake most of the night in a very uncomfortable bed. I was lucky to have slept 2 hours all night. If you wanted to use the toilet, you needed to turn the light on 5 minutes before because it took that long to come on, and the exhaust fan was attached to the same switch, and the noise it made would wake the dead. We had planned to stay two nights, but we left our friends place late afternoon, packed our bags, and checked out. When I returned the key to reception, the person asked why? I just thought, if you really do not know you must be as stupid as you look. I could list at least 20 other things wrong with the room and facilities. Please, please take my advise, do not stay here, it is terrible, and if I could have given it no stars, I would have.

Back to 1970

We, my husband and I, spent 3 nights here recently. We were surprised how run down it was considering the price that we paid. There was a lot of rust throughout the motor inn, especially around the doors and air-conditioning unit in our room. The room was not regularly cleaned and the staff blamed this on the "Covid regulations" and refused to clean the room throughout our stay despite being asked. it is a very dated place and could do with some major refurbishments. 
In the outdoor gazebo there was barbequing facilities, however they were inaccessible due to the collapsed roof which had been taken over by vines.
Basic items for tea and coffee available

Run down and grubby

Our room was tired and the lighting too dim to read a book.
The garden was unkempt and the building was in need of maintenance.
Our friends had a similar experience.
Perhaps they gave us the worst room because of the travel auction deal.
This motel needs some serious management and maintenance.


Weary

Extremely disappointed. Was a travel auction. Would not stay again unless absolutely had to. Wad to cancel our initial booking due to Covid. When rebooking we were given a couple of dates then when we rang to confirm we were told the man that gave us those dates had no right to do so as we had ample time to take the booking as they weren't closed during the Covid lockdown... that's despite SA people being told NOT to go to regional areas and not allowed to travel. We went with 2 other couples who also had issues..  maybe we were given poor rooms as we were part of a travel auction.. I don't know but be forewarned if you are thinking of going here. 2 owners were plrasent but that's about all there was that was ok...Continental breakfast was supposed to be part of the package. On arrival the person at the desk looked at his book and said.. oh your a travel auction.. then proceeded to tell me the although breakfast had been included no continental breakfast was being provided as the council had told them it wasn't allowed and we would have to find our own at our own expense...(despite this being paid for and factored in to the travel auction)..they didn't offer any small boxed cereals to have in our room like other motels have done previously. Went into the room...bed was clean as was the carpet but that was it. I had to use Kleenex disinfectant wipes to wipe all the surfaces down and had to wash all the cutlery...crockery and the container they were in.. also had to clean the outside and inside of the fridge. the floor in the bathroom was filthy.. not just dirty..the wipes came away black. Only had half a roll of toilet paper so had to go and ask for more after we ran out.. luckily we also had some in the car. Saw some people playing billiards and we went to play the next day only to be rudely turned away as the room was being rented as office space during Covid. Only thing this place has going for it is the location. We have been in a lot of motels that are older and outdated but the cleanliness of this is disgusting..I know that doors get old but some maintenance is needed. Having rooms clean would have improved our stay significantly. Taking a shower in a filthy bathroom did little to allay concerns about cleaning with Covid issues around

Location is only thing going for this

We stayed at the Apollon Motor Inn for a 3 night weekend away.  Our room was a bit dated but great for the price.  The room was well laid out and had everything that you needed.  The best thing was that the beds were extremely comfortable and my husband and I had the best sleeps we have ever had whilst staying away from home.  Lula and her husband were great hosts and very helpful.  The property is well located and close to everything.  Will definitely stay again here.  Judy & Phil

Weekend away

Staff were extremely welcoming & friendly throughout entire stay.
John even put spa on to heat up so that I could enjoy in the morning - WOW, how good was that.
Location excellent- able to walk to shopping centre, main street, Whale Centre, Granite Island, Markets etc. Rooms were well equipped  with basics + microwave.
Breakfast was good value  & atmosphere in dining room was comfortable.

Winter getaway

Travelling through South Australia we found this lovely motel to spend a few nights, the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home , rooms were clean and neat and although a little dated the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely .
Great location would definitely stay here again.
