We stayed for a week around a trip to the passion play in Oberammergau which was only about 90 minutes away. The extra travelling was rewarded with stunning scenery and this hotel is ideally placed to enjoy it whether a walk around the lake, the mountains, a gentle boat trip or further afield eg a trip to Innsbruck.
This is a medium sized family run hotel - we met at least six members of the family during our stay - but has facilities and service worthy of something bigger. for example, I enjoyed the sauna facilities (almost deserted in May despite a full hotel) and our group had use of a spacious meeting room all week. Our room was well appointed with a good balcony view.
The evening meals (ordered at breakfast time as part of our group deal) offered well cooked variety accompanied by various regional beers and served by friendly staff. In fact all the staff were friendly and helpful, patiently explaining the local bus system repeatedly to different members of our group for example.
I can't comment on price/value as this was part of a complicated package including the passion play.

Great location, stunning views, friendly staff, good beer and sauna

Simple hotel with good food and spacious rooms, but the bathrooms were old and didn't look very clean, but the staff is attentive, especially the hotel's owner, Crystal, always nice and attentive to the customers.

Good restaurant and good stay

Traditionally run house with very good Austrian show cuisine, best laundry and friendly service. Spacious rooms with balcony. Very good location between lake and village. Free parking.

A weekend at Lake Aachen

We were traveling throughout Austria, Italy and Switzerland and everywhere the food was unbelievable, but the dinner we had at Fischer Wirt was exceptional.  We had fried potatoes with bacon and ham and a wonderful salad.  Out of 21 days on our trip, this meal could be #1 or #2 of our journey!

Only ate here but it was at the top of our best meals

If you like to eat in a noisy environment, you're right here. The service was very crowded and overcrowded. We were taken to a larger room where the hotel guests would normally have breakfast, since the place was occupied by a travel company. The food was ok but not particularly. The place is approached by many buses with travelers. So whoever values a quiet place with very good food and prices is very well taken care of in the Zillertal yard, but not in the Fischer Host.

Fishing host over rated

We enjoyed the Fischer Wirt am Achensee during off season this year in March over Easter weekend and found quite splendid! It was thankfully, one of the only hotels open in the area, but had a great location right on the lake, main street and the ski resort, and very close to all the cross-country skiing and hiking trails (by car). While most of these things were in transition as the snow melted, we were still able to enjoy the spa at the hotel which was quite nice with a sauna, steam room and solarium and quite peaceful as we were just about the only ones there! They also offered massages and a delightful breakfast in their cozy dining area, just off the restaurant. With such great customer service, location and great rates, we will definitely be visiting again in the summer!
