A country inn, but visually modernized. Rustic but functional rooms, friendly staff, good, rich food, good local beer. Pets welcome. Very casual handling of the young owners. Friendly staff, struggling guests. Not for chic-micky vacationers, but recommended for the short vacation.

Unforced holiday in the countryside in family atmosphere

Gasthof located 2 km from the exit of the motorway in a small village (haimburg) very quiet. The boy who welcomed us was kind and available to meet our needs. Room for two people essential, clean and spacious. In my opinion optimal for passersby because the ratio quality price and very good. We did not enjoy breakfast because we left early.

Since February 1, 2019, the KILIAN hostel has been in new hands. The young daughter of the previous owner has taken over the hostel. On our last visit today, we were totally enthusiastic about the dynamic service and the new,fresh wind that the new hostess brings in. The food was also excellent...When we got the key to the room, we were also very positively surprised here, because the room was in perfect condition and the price-for-sale ratio is also simple. We wish the young host everything, everything good on your next business, and we will be happy to come by at the next Kärnten-Customer's office... Greetings, family Egärger.

When I arrived, I was surprised by the garbage outside, the room was dirty, there were still kitchen pots with old food leftovers, the bed lining was stained with makeup, and I don't use any.

Disappointment

The room was spacious, especially since we were not really in a room, but rather an apartment. There was a full kitchen and a washer I didn't know how to use as well. It was too much room for two people. Due to the fact it was the apartment, our room did not look like any of the pictures online. The room felt much older and lived in, to the point that it felt like I was staying in someone's house (like a house sitter).

There were some issues, such as holes in some of the pillow cases, but since there were 4 bed spaces made up, finding one that was whole was not a problem. Overall things worked out and we slept well. We did not have breakfast here.

 The Wi-Fi signal did not reach our space and we needed to go outside to use it. There is a bar onsite, it seemed to cater mainly to locals. Another guest and his family asked about having dinner at the property, and the woman said she would have to check the kitchen because she did not know what was there for her to prepare for his party. My mother and I went to the McDonald's near the autobahn to eat.

An okay stop on a longer trip

Last week, when I was going to spend a few days 'holidays' on my trip, I came across this inn. Since the booking happened quite spontaneously and a trip took place at night, we agreed that the room key had been deposited in front of the house. After a long drive, people were looking forward to the room. But I was denied access, there was no key at the agreed place. The phone was then no longer received and no recall! Absolutely no-go and a huge joy!

Total disappointment in all areas!

Gasthas Kilian is quite convenient to the main highway and wasn't too difficult to find. We were taken aback a little (in time?) when we went to register in the bar. A smoky haze filled the air. This place must be a time capsule from the days when you could still smoke in a bar in Europe (how long ago was that?) Big turnoff. Fortunately our room didn't smell. Reasonably clean but behind the bathroom door and other little corners there were signs of a hasty cleaning. The room had three beds and was quite cramped - if travelling with mother-in-law, get her another room! (In our previous room in another Austrian B&B we had two rooms for a couple Euros more than the price of this one.) There was no view out the high window - just a roof. Internet is included and there was an interesting magazine in the room (forget the cable if you don't speak German). Without that it would have been a tough evening since the bar was out. The area looked nice for a walk (an interesting building up the road to see, pretty area) but we were tired and didn't go out. There's a lot of pine furniture, "booky" corners, which at least let you escape the cramped room. It looks rather like a hunter's lodge and you can take pictures with the stuffed baby bear on the landing. The highlight was definitely not the night spent with two snorers in a small room.  It was breakfast. This place knows how to serve breakfast. A big plate of cold cuts and cheese (being there were three of us, we got two plates.) Lots of rolls, more coming to our table when the hostess noticed we had finished ours, great coffee, juice and eggs. Good service. We might go back for the breakfast but in a room for two.

Three's really a crowd here

Pricey hotel with rooms in Haimburg at Völkermarkt, unfortunately the cleanliness leaves a bit to be desired, very dusty, despite pulse 4 television recording, village needs host. Ground cleaning in rooms overdue. Breakfast with very hard, partly still frozen seeds, soft eggs were still quite liquid. Staff partly incompetent.

Cleaning is recommended.

It is located 5 minutes down the highway to Vienna travelling from Italy, so it is a very convenient stop. Even the quiet village deserves to spend at least a whole day to see the place. Outside the inn does not say much, but inside the story is another. The very typical decoration of the Alps with a lot of wood, which gives a very pleasant scent to the forest, besides providing warmth. The bar is open to the public, so it is common to see some local drinking beer quietly. The room was large, always maintaining style. clean and comfortable. The car had to be left out, in a backyard. The very good attention, we arrived at 11 pm by chance, the kitchen was closed, but we were equally prepared to eat something in the room. As in English, there is almost every German in Austria, if you know how to handle it.
