It was a real scam, and because of the credit card booking and the non-refundable amount, we slept and it was a nightmare.

If you breathe in the gas coming out of the bathroom, you could get a bad illness.

The good points:  Rooms were warm, clean daily towels, beds were comfortable.
The bad points: Don't believe it's a 10 min walk to the station - it's more like 25 and the walk into town will take you about 40 mins.  The room smelled of cigarettes. The furniture needs replacing it's that worn. The main corridor smelled of waste. The view from the room (if you have a view) is depressing.  The woman on the front desk is rude beyond belief (at breakfast we asked for some more bread as there was not enough for the 4 of us, she was so aggressive and started to shouted at us) - I actually looked for alternative accommodation after that experience but everywhere was full!
This claims to be a hotel, but it's more like a basic hostel.  Not even a kettle in your room to make a drink.

Find somewhere else!

I stayed there for 2 nights with my wife. We had a poor experience. Rooms are poorly lit, only basic hygiene. Nothing great about the rooms or the view. Breakfast was also poor, location is ok. Not recommended.

Poor exeperience

My partner and I stayed 3 nights at Hotel Buona Vita. The beds and floors were relatively clean but inside cupboards there was a lot of dust. In our bathroom there was a leak in the tiles directly over the toilet and a few insects flying around. 

It’s a fair way out of town so I would not recommend walking in and out of town, although it is possible. 

Probably best for a night as it is relatively cheap and close to the train station.


Old Hotel 10-15min walk from the train station 

You will not particularly like the hotel when you you will first see it from the outside..but that’s until you enter the room!
Rooms were very cozy, clean and quite well decorated (for a budget hotel) and heated all the time providing a constant sense of warmth!! It was really nice overall!!
The staff was very kind and willing to help, especially the guy working the 2nd shift.
The hotel is located just a minute walk away from the nearest bus stop from where you need just one bus for only 5 stops in order to reach the city center!!! The train station is accessible either by bus or a 15min walk!
Nevertheless, this hotel is definitely not a four-star one, as it claims to be.

The best option

A hysterical receptionist woke us up screaming because she wanted us to check out... even though we had booked for a long time.

Unfriendliness and poor coordination

Well it is difficult to pinpoint anything - maybe free parking but the rest is very average. Considering the price and level of service/accommodation we got I think it is overpriced. Once we saw breakfast selection we decided not to go for it.

Expect basic accommodation -clean but nothing else

Location: Nowhere on a main street. Nothing you want to see is within walking distance of reception: unprofessional, unfriendly, but fit for the disastrous appearance of this hotel - imitation. Here you know guests will never return and so you call them welcome. Environment: A backyard that serves as a parking lot for the hotel and a restaurant with garbage containers that flood rooms: It smells like a sewage drain. Everything is broken and you feel like this casket used to be a brothel.

Not even in an emergency

The area where you're in is not the best, cleanliness is acceptable, staff kindness is excellent, not including breakfast, which costs about seven euros a person, when I stayed there it was hot and there were no air conditioners, only ceiling shovels, small rooms.

Disappointing

So if someone flies to Tenerife with Ryanair and pays 19 euros for it and then complains about the food on board - then he didn't understand anything. This could also be true of my criticism of a hotel, since I only pay 65 euros a night. If there weren't accommodations in this city, which are also more fine in the low-budget area...this house is creepy, unattractive and unkind. Well, there are free parking spaces and if you have to do things in the north of Salzburg, it's cheap, but that's it. The rooms are small, the beds are short, the TVs go, but there's no reception.
