The hotel is a 6 minute walk from Rotholz train station and is easy to find. We had finished our Snow-shoeing trip and must have looked a sight but the welcome was very friendly. The owner gave our friends a choice of bedrooms when he realised the two men would be sharing which was very kind.
The room my husband and I had was very spacious and the shower had lovely hot water! The meal we had in the evening was great value and the service was excellent. The breakfast was excellent. They were very helpful in booking taxis to the train station and in posting home my mislaid travel pillow!
I would recommend this hotel for it’s welcoming and friendly staff.

Fantastic hotel and friendly welcome

This time around, we'll be having lunch with business friends, of course, back at Esterhammer's Inn. The restaurant, not the hotel, is the only place to be! Very clean, well maintained, beautifully decorated. The Esterhammer presents itself as a jewelry when we enter. We're in the non-smoking room, the smokers still have their own shelter, they don't like to bother.

The Secret Tip

I just tested the restaurant because I had to do a very bad experience with the quality of the food there a few years ago, and I was just wondering if anything had changed in the meantime. In conclusion: Didn't we? We entered the dark, old-fashioned brown-tipped and unadorned entrance and wanted to go to the guest room with our left hand. Right at the door, the chef met us and said that there was no room left without greeting us.

Food is a disaster!

Second visit after 2008. Unchanged well. The kitchen is a pleasure to look forward to all day long. Old fashioned with soup, appetizers, main course and dessert. And mainly Tyrolese cuisine (and not anything of any kind). The rooms are not so new, but of unimaginable size (if you are familiar with modern hotel bunkers). Of course, not everything is on the building or equipment-related level of today's hotel chain. But if you don't need a kilometer long buffet for breakfast, but are satisfied with a smaller one, where everything tastes good, but for you have nice people who work there, have more fun than at dozens of shelters, and don't want to see a gym (or have a toilet in public), at least if you don't want to see yourself, you're not going to be able to travel well.

The owners are very friendly, you are greeted like an old friend. The room (at least the one I had) are spacious enough to offer pleasant feel. My double bed was comfortable and I could sleep well. The hotel is on a slope of a small hill, so the view of Jenbach and into the valley are very nice. Thanks to being off main roads, the place is very quiet, no traffic noise, which is great for good quiet night sleep.
WiFi was functioning excellent also in the room, which is an important parameter for business travelers or online-junkies.
The food offered is mostly local (I appreciate local food), and good.
The hotel is overall clean. 
This is a traditional house with lot of wooden elements; the house is kept well in order, but some small restorations would be advisable.
In any case, great value for money, to be recommended.

Overall great value for money

Tranquilla gasthof is close to the Inn's bicycle and the Achenseebahn, Europe's oldest still operating steam railway. (it's worth taking the train to the beautiful Achen lake although it's a bit expensive. 2 people and 2 bicycles 58 €).

Gasthof is cozy and quiet!

We spent two days at the hotel. We were all very satisfied. Although the outdoor pool is cold, it is very relaxing in good weather. Not only was breakfast great, but the dinner was also. I highly recommend the pickled herb. A strength with all dishes.

Great feeling factor

After a stroll, we entered the beautiful chestnut garden here. Although five minutes before the actual closing of the kitchen, we still had a delicious Tyrol lunch - I would eat the spinach nuts again.

Good Tyrolean cuisine

A family run restaurant that serves great traditional dishes in a lovely setting, especially in spring and summer when you can sit in the beautiful outdoor garden, very friendly staff.

It's a beautiful place, good food.

We thought this hotel was within walking distance from the train station. It might have been if we hadn't gone over a mile in the wrong direction first. We finally figured out the problem and got ourselves turned around. However, the walk entailed at least a quarter mile along a road with no sidewalk. We had to drag our suitcases along the gravel beside the road, not a good recipe for wheels. 
Once we arrived and checked into our room, we were pleasantly surprised by comfortable accommodations. It's an old hotel and many items in the rooms and hallways are lovely antiques. The bathroom has been renovated but still the lighting is poor. But all facilities are clean. 
Dinner was delicious as was breakfast. We opted for a cab to take us to the train station early the following morning.
