A nice hotel in its outdoor and interior decoration. Very rich and very varied breakfast. The service is very smiling and very pleasant. The owner speaks French well and it is very pleasant. Relaxing family atmosphere. Very good guest table in the evening with typical dishes of the area. Our room was large, clean and quiet as it gives the river side. Full of wonderful walks to do everything. The bus shuttle system financed by the hotels is very efficient to avoid pollution and traffic jams. The buses are ultra punctual and allow you to go from spot to spot of mechanical lifts. We were in the summer and the noise of the river that flows, the bells of the corridors are too quiet to rest, which has relaxed us in the great air, but the rest of the hotel is not very nice. You will notice that the river is a very nice place to enter, and the small rooms of the hotel are very nice.

the ideal tyrol

We booked this hotel for a week’s ski holiday after the long pandemic lock-downs had prevented us from travelling the previous year. The hotel was very welcoming and friendly with excellent attentive service from Eva and Liradonna during our stay. Highlights included a good sized comfortable bedroom with a nice view down the valley with an excellent power shower. The Breakfast choice was one of the best if not the best I have ever had. The bar was cosy, the wellness centre including saunas were most welcome after a day on the slopes, the Restaurant was good as we ate there on our first night. There were a number of other good restaurants nearby which were full of character and very pleasant. The main Gondala lift is a 10 minute walk and there are 2 ski hire shops on the way to the lift. I used Insider Ski, who I can highly recommend without hesitation as I can recommend the Hotel Garni Forelle. There are bus stops directly outside the hotel for travel up to Hintertux or down into Mayrhofen. All in all, a comfortable, friendly & convenient place to stay .Also, the ski room was well equipped and secure .

Great Hotel for a Ski Snowboard Holiday

I just spent a week at Forelle, friendly reception, comfortable rooms, inventive cuisine.The owners Eva and Roland are very kind.

It's a nice hotel to stay in!

The owner-managed hotel stands out from the rest of the local hotel population. From the outside, it's rather unsightly, but inside you'll find a very comfortable but modern spa area, as well as an excellent kitchen without the typical fries of other local restaurants. The apartment we lived in was very well divided, clean and modern.

I only know the restaurant, not the hotel. The restaurant is open to the public only in the evening, in a warm and cozy environment of wood and decorative objects of the Tyrolean tradition (perhaps a bit kitsch, but certainly typical!). Excellent well-groomed and tasty dishes. I recommend the specialty of the house, the whole trout or fillets. As a dessert the Lavendelparfait (semi-cold to lavender) with rosemary sorbet: a delight! Service with kindness and attention.

Of course, the speciality of the Forelle is the Forelle (fish)!

The Tuxertal is not only known for its ski areas and the glacier, but also for its family-run hotels. We were able to convince ourselves of this in person at the Hotel Forelle. Both the hotel (****) and the guest house (***) were very well equipped and met our expectations (even athletes want some luxury). The sauna area was excellent. For guests of the hotel but also for tourists in Vorderlanersbach the restaurant is recommended. The menu is manageable, but this has a reason.

Luxury skiing

Well built hotel, spacious rooms clean and functional, I would have preferred a little warmer but they were fine... comfortable beds but smooth pillows... nothing bad, quiet environment.

It's a great place to stay.

Very comfortable hotel,beautifully lit,spacious and pleasant rooms,Roland,the boss,is a remarkable cook;his wife Eva and staff are very kind and available.The hotel has a fly fishing course with beautiful fish!It is difficult to find a better price ratio....short for an excellent address.

An excellent address

In Tux I visited a few hotels and Hotel Forelle is the best so far. My room was great with wood floor, balcony and a nice bathroom with a large shower. TV has many channels (including BBC) and Wi-Fi works well. The hotel is nice and cozy, the boss is nice and friendly and the food is good.

That's a very good decision.

Spent a week-long ski holiday here with family and friends. The rooms are large and comfortably appointed with great beds and nice bathroom/shower. Somewhat of a rarity in Europe, the lighting in the bathroom is superb. An extensive on-site sauna and steam room is included and the hotel has its own bus stop, greatly simplifying travel to and from ski resorts. WiFi, nice ski locker room with heated boot racks and a play room for children round out the amenities.

Our week included not only a full breakfast each morning, but also an afternoon snack and a five-course, four-star dinner in the evening. Breakfast is served buffet style with traditional Austrian meats, cheeses, spreads, breads, radishes, sweet pepper slices, tiny tomatoes, sliced cucumber, as well as home made preserves, cereal with fresh yogurt, fresh fruit, specially seasoned scrambled eggs and bacon. Endless pots of coffee with hot cream are brought directly to the table. The trick is to organize one's plate and resist the temptation to put too much on the plate or to return for more goodies.

In the morning each table is provided with a little newsletter with current ski conditions and a short history lesson of what happened on that particular day. A menu of the evening meal is prepared and each guest selects their option of two main courses, at least one of which is a traditional Austrian dish.

The dinners are delicious and gorgeously plated. Appetizers are especially creative and the nightly soup is always very fresh and interesting. The Hungarian wait staff was diligent and pleasant, with the exception of an occasionally grumpy head waitress, Edit. Young Szoka's smile that lights up the world made up for Edit.  

Occasional and puzzling lapses in customer service knocked my rating down by a star, particularly in the onsite bar, in which smoking was unfortunately allowed and service lagged. On a few occasions we sat in the dining room waiting for our ticket after draining our aperitifs for an inordinately long time while the staff cleared tables and did prep work for breakfast.
