Hotel nicely situated away from main city centre to make your stay nice and quiet and the journey on foot a bit more interesting to reach the various locations of Vienna with lots of local bars, cafes and restaurants at hand on the doorstep. Loads of local and very frequent transport if required too. A beautiful spacious large bedroom with a neat ensuite complete with shower and all styled in a traditional vienese decor. The hospitality from all the kind and friendly staff is excellent and make it an extra special experience and more reason to return.

No wonder you fall in love with Vienna !

We stayed at the Hotel Columbia for five nights. The house is located on the first floor of a quiet side street in Josefstadt. There are numerous shops and restaurants. The nearest train station is 5 minutes' walk from the hotel. After 2 stops you are already in the centre of Vienna. The rooms are spacious, clean, tastefully furnished and have comfortable beds. The breakfast is good, is freshly prepared, is rich and served at the table. The hostess is very friendly and always strives for the well-being of the guests. For 19€/day we were able to park our car in a safe underground nearby.

Recommended Accommodation in Vienna

We booked Colombia through a portal at a fairly high price, because we were hoping to have a great hotel in a nice neighborhood. In the portal, the house was also listed exclusively as hotel. We found a self-check-in store with entrance via a side entrance, everything without service and our questions were also answered quite poorly, we would have gotten an email with code for the room (because we had everything completely without service that we expected at the very high overnight break). The rooms were okay, quite scented, everything in the shower cabin was in the tiles was very large, there was no air conditioning. The breakfast was unfortunately enough, but the loans were already cleared in weeks.

Anyone who expects a hotel will be very disappointed.

We had a boutique room. Very spacious rooms, great flair, nicely furnished, everything very clean. Everything done with attention to detail. Generous breakfast, snack cabinet (pay by use), mini bar in the hallway (pay by use). Everything very uncomplicated. 20 minutes walk to the center, subway nearby, quiet location. Really recommended!

This is a great hotel.

The building, the rooms have charm. Breakfast very generous, furnished in a beautiful living room. My room was large, very well furnished. But the mattress was very bad, properly arranged, unfortunately this is also the case in the other rooms. They needed to be replaced. Good location, about 30 minutes' walk to the center.

Hotel with charm

We were there for a weekend, the price was the key to the booking. The rooms were super clean, the breakfast was versatile and delicious! Very good solution, despite Corona (see picture).

Sweet little hotel

We stayed overnight at this hotel on the occasion of the New Year 2020. Perfect location just outside the centre, in 10 minutes on foot you are in the Rathaus area, in 30 minutes on Stephansplatz. I strongly recommend walking through the streets of the city to enjoy all the Viennese atmosphere.

A safe harbor

Very sweet accommodation in a residential building in the center of Vienna. An old building with very high ceilings, all familiar and unrooted. The rooms are individually designed, clean and quiet. I am here for the second time. The town hall with the associated metro station is about 8 minutes' walk away. Theoretically you can also walk to the city centre in 20 minutes. But there are also buses and trampolines in the immediate vicinity. Breakfast is very lovingly prepared, with ingredients from the region. Sustainability is respected, everything tastes wonderful and is regularly filled. I can recommend further with good conscience!

Nice accommodation in Vienna

We had a great stay at the Urban Stay hotel Columbia.  We arrived at night but the instructions were clear and our key was easy to find. Breakfast was lovely, self service with a great variety, delicious breads, cold meats, preserves, eggs and a good coffee machine too. The rooms were large and our shower was fantastic, with L'Occitane toiletries. We found the staff to be very helpful.

Lovely hotel

A disappointing experience. The use of the word “hotel” for this property is really a misnomer. It is more properly considered as a pension/B&B, but it doesn’t really pull off being either a hotel or a pension. The former implies staff support and help. The other usually indicates a warm welcome from family owners. This property has neither. It’s essentially self-service, with the sole staff member often disappearing for long stretches, which resulted breakfast items often not being restocked and long waits to check out.

If you book here, be sure to request a room that doesn’t face the street. Buses come and go until around midnight and bus passengers are often boisterous and loud. There is no air conditioning so you may have the choice of a stuffy room or lots of noise.

The property has it’s good points. Rooms are clean. Location is pretty good. Many nice and reasonably priced restaurants nearby. But on balance we wouldn’t recommend.
