Having walked down an uneven, dirty path to 
CLOUD 9 it was obvious that it was very run down. No beach, no bar, no restaurant and no outside area to sit in. Pier was caved in and unsightly. After climbing 70 steps we came to our room. Lovely view over sea and outside area. Clean sheets and towels.  That was all that was good. Balcony door didn't shut properly,  most lights inside didn't work, shower trickled, bed bugs and mosquitos. Couldn't lock front door from inside and dangerous trying to negotiate the steps up and down. Music from the pier went on until 4am when the cockeral started crowing. There was only one person working there and she seemed confused by everything. Sihanoukville is a building site. Recommend giving it a miss and going Koh Rong Saloem which is beautiful and to date all working well.

Worst place we stayed in cambodia

Let’s start with the driver. I booked direct with hotel to save on any hassle at airport. As soon as he had our bags he was hounding us to book in tours with him. We repeated over and over again that we had everything booked. But he kept insisting he should take us. Total creep.

Then we checked in. The owner seemed perplexed that we even arrived. 

Advertised as including food. There was no food or bar. In fact the menu was used as thatching for the roof of the bungalows.

Next my daughter fell down the flight of stairs as the rails were completely broken and never been repaired. 

Lastly bed bugs! 

This has been the only place I have ever left a bad review for.

Worst 24 hours of our trip.

I stayed for one night at Cloud 9 and it will forever haunt me. At first glance, the place seems alright. No air conditioning but I can live with that. Bathrooms were subpar but again, it’s only one night. The real terror began as I attempted to get a night’s rest. Not only did the bug nets have holes in them, the mattress was riddled with bed bugs. All night I couldn’t stop the crawling/itching sensation all over my body. And there was literally no escape.. where would I go? Outside on the balcony to be feasted on by more mosquitoes? The bathroom maybe? I would have slept on the moldy tile floor if the ceiling was separate from the bedroom but that isn’t the case at the ironically titled, Cloud 9. My friends and I awoke covered in mosquito and bed bug bites that lasted the remainder of our trip. Little, itchy, red blemishes from our faces to our finger tips. Rad! 

IN CONCLUSION: DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ENJOY A NIGHTS REST, BUGLESS BEDS AND YOUR SKIN INTACT

One of my most miserable hotel experiences

Look let's face it, the place is a 2.5 star rated place so it wasn't ever going to be great.

Let's start on a good note.

The views are fantastic. The bungalows are quaint. But that's about it.

The things there's no control over next, the noise. It's a noisy place. Not the place itself so much but the surrounding areas and this is something to consider when booking here. If you want night life it's good and close to something happening till about 4am on a Wednesday morning but if you're a family after a decent night's sleep then I am sure there are better options. That being said ... The noise hasn't been a factor of my review. Just something to point out.

The bad.

The rooms weren't that clean. Sure the sheets were clean and the towels were clean but that's where the cleaning ended. The fan was covered in that thick layer of dust that you get on ceiling fans, there was cobwebs everywhere that made it hard not to notice.

The shower was one of those instant hot water things that run on electricity and while the shower was ok it just was gaudy to look at with wasp nest looking buildup all around it.

The place is fast becoming delapidated. One of the handrails came off with one of the kids resting on it. There were other handrails that were just missing as this had happened before. The thatching in the roofs had been patched with their menu pages because they couldn't be bothered fixing it properly. 

The advertised inclusive things. Free breakfast. Sure if you like a refreshing breeze for breakfast. Bar. Sure if you don't actually want to drink anything. Food. Sure if you can read the menu (see before mentioned note about how the menu was used to patch holes in the roof). Family friendly. Sure if you don't mind being dehydrated and running the risk of falling through the fence and potentially a brush with tetanus. (Just to be very clear this is being very sarcastic).

Finally the staff. There was only one woman that seemed to be running the show. And she looked perpetually perplexed that there were customers that were staying with them. She seemed very surprised when we arrived even though the booking was made well in advance for 5 people and there was 2 500ml bottles of water, for the aforementioned 5 people. Then when we asked if we could get a couple more bottles of water we were greeted with that surprised look on her face once again. 

But the view was fantastic.


Hard to give a good review, nice views though

Dilapidated bungalows: no AC; grim bathroom; hard bed. Noise from nearby clubs at night and from nearby building site early in the morning. Only net curtains so nothing to block out the 05:30am sunrise. Beyond extracting your money asap owners appear to have no interest in accommodating guests. Photos very misleading.

There are not many options on online booking sites for Sihanoukville which is why we ended up here in spite of the bad reviews we'd read. Actually there are lots of hotels in the area, including similar looking villas next door. Do yourself a favour and book into one of them on arrival instead...

Shabby rooms and unwelcoming hosts

Hotel tres disappointing because of the staff, not very nice and very cold. The prorio is Russian, it hates Cambodians, some of whom had to get close to the hotel, it sends them out for a walk. It looks like they're gene. I ask for help and pretend to call me his phone to call a dollar. The rooms are dirty, to access it is difficult and tiring with the children.

Disappointing reception

A pitiful welcome by a young Russian is saying at the post office for 3 days (the next day for 2 days!), when we ask for information about the surroundings: he knows nothing and doesn't even care to inform us The awful environment: extremely noisy at night (nightclub music until 5am, relay taken by construction work 3m from the bungalow from 6am) Bungalow unstable and more than summarised, dirty, animals, crottes, toilets closed... for the price!!! Team of the establishment having a disgusting and dishonest: impossible to discuss with our dissatisfaction manager, who accuses his staff of committing a bungalow in front of us!

Escape! Avoid at all costs, horrible stay in the Cloud9

A nice hotel with a beautiful view and friendly staff, watching the sunset, just an exceptional place. Bungalow clean, clean, near beaches and nightlife, general for young people.

Changes to the Better

It's a very nice bungalow with a beautiful sea view the staff is adorable and very helpful the location is perfect it's true that there is noise but it's not very annoying and breakfast on the waterfront terrace is perfect

It's a beautiful view.

The hotel consists of 9 bungalows, located on a hill by the sea itself and each bungalow is made higher than the previous one. Thus everyone is provided with complete privacy and a beautiful view. And one bungalow wall facing the sea is made of glass! Each bungalow has a beautiful porch. The kitchen is European. This is my third time staying here, and I can confidently say that this is the best place on the coast.
