Honestly - I can not say enough about this absolutely beautiful B&B!!! What a unique find and what a lovely time we had here! It was our wedding anniversary and I wanted to find something truly romantic to celebrate it at - so glad that I found this place!!
Located right in the heart of the Old City of Quebec, just steps away from the Citadel and the Plains of Abraham in one direction and the Chateau Frontenac in the other direction.
When we arrived, the young girl who met us was so friendly and moved her car so we could park right next to the B&B, which is located in an old, historic building. The entire place is filled with antiques and period piece furniture - our room had a 4-poster bed and an amazing library - the bathroom was huge and had a clawfoot tub. 
It was pretty hot in the room so we had to crack a window to cool it off nut there was no sounds of traffic from outside so it stayed nice and quiet.
A young German couple served us breakfast for the next two days and they were delightful and very helpful. 
We were both treated very well and our doggy was made to feel very welcome as well. We were so close to so many amazing restaurants and had no trouble finding our way around the city.
Staying at this B&B was really the highlight of our trip and I would totally stay there again!! Highly Recommended!!!

A Truly Beautiful & Unique Gem Located In The Heart Of The Old City!! Absolutely Amazing!!

Francis is owner of our B&B, and a new friend for life, we would like to think. We'll be back for sure. In 4 days,  we have really enjoyed his knowledge, attitude, smiles, and humour. Veronica, his business partner is just as wonderful ! Just as fun !  (plus she cooks family recipe breakfasts (like cranberry bread pudding with real maple syrup) !  Family couldn't treat you better !   Location, location, location. We are walking distance to everything ! This 4 days has been better than we could have ever imagined ! 

Thank you Francis and Veronica. Btw, Princess Cruises comes in here 10 minutes away, from Europe, Boston, you name it. The Bed and Breakfast building itself is an 1888 historical home in great condition, remodeled into a wonderful 4 bedroom. Francis grew up there and his knowledge of where and what to see is the best! Veronica is also a world traveler to compare notes with and she knows what great service is and makes sure we are happy. 

The rooms are perfect, the beds are comfy with lots of pillows, and there is a seating area in our room. Our room had an amazing balcony patio with views of the rooftops, including the majestic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac Hotel, one of the most photographed hotels in the world, which is 2 blocks away, on the St Lawrence River. With Francis' advise we visited/walked to 4 distinct old  neighborhoods, all with shops, restaurants,  cafes. He also recommended the $3 ferry for  beautiful old city photography shots. We also took a 1.5 hr hop off  bus tour located on the boardwalk,  10 minutes walk away.  We had 4 perfect days !

Francis is an excellent, kind and caring host! Annase was very helpful during and after checking in. Pleasant room and a huge and excellent bathroom with a lovely rain shower!

Excellent B&B super location in Old Quebec!

We had an enjoyable stay at this B&B in Quebec City.  The location was perfect for a great weekend stay in Quebec City.  Francis went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. He provided us with tips for the area, helped with our parking needs and served as a fantastic host.  The breakfast was plentiful with a variety of fruits, pastries and homemade croissants.  It is clear Francis takes pride in his work and we really appreciated his attentiveness throughout our stay. We look forward to visiting again in the future and would not hesitate coming back to La Marquise de Bassano.

Welcome Home

Location, location, location!!! it’s a very cute corner property off to a side street. easy to get to the Château Frontenac, the St. Lawrence River, Lower Old Quebec City, and many shops and restaurants. The staff were polite, friendly, professional, and were able to answer all of our questions. It is a claw foot bathtub… so if you’re not accustomed to that, not for you … but so classy to experience!!

Location, Location, Location!

Comfortable room, great breakfasts. The location is perfect- in the “old city”, a block from the Hotel Frontenac and great shopping and restaurants. Our hostess, Veronique, is a gem - very friendly, helpful, and truly endearing. Get her to talk about herself; she is a very interesting woman. We hated to leave!

Great location, Endearing Hostes!

My boyfriend and I had a lovely 5 nights at La Marquise de Bassano.  The bed was very comfortable, the room was lovely, the new bathroom was amazing, the location was perfect, the breakfast was filling, the price was very reasonable and the hospitality was superb!  Who knows what’s in store with all the restrictions with Covid, but  we would certainly love to come back next year.  We wish Francis and Veronica all the best.  Marie & Rene

Perfect in so many ways!

Staying with family, we were welcomed as family :) Charming guests, excellent breakfast and beds are very comfortable. Located 1 minute from Frontenac Castle, the place is ideal for visiting without moving the car!!

A beautiful hundred-year-old house

I loved my stay at the Marquise de Bassano - it is walking distance to everything, and the building and facilities are just what you want to be in when staying in old Quebec.  The hosts were the most memorable part of the trip.  Francis joined me for a beer on the front bench upon arrival, the breakfasts each morning were delicious and there were no issues at all with the facilities.  Even the shared bathroom was a non-issue.

I received lots of suggestions on things to see and do, and there is not a bad thing to say about anything!  Once you are here, you can park your car and leave it that way until you leave.  Such a great experience and would stay here in a heartbeat when back in Quebec.

Please can go back!

We loved how graciously we were welcomed by Francis and felt very much part of the family atmosphere. Our room was to dream for with a 4 poster bed and clawfooted bathtub. The location was perfect just around the corner from the Chateau.
