Stayed just the night, actually spent hardly for 7/8 hours. Clean room and toilets, devoid of any luxury. Tea maker with two paper cups were provided without any sugar or mix sachets.  The tea bags had Chinese writings, one couldn't make out what tea it was !  There was a foot massager (chargeable for using).  We had a problem with the AC,  a housekeeping staff came promptly to attend to it, we had to communicate with him through the google translator. Breakfast spread was good.  Ok for a day's stay.

Clean hotel

Very average hotel, no connection with the group addicted, disappointed. Not very clean room, which spoils cigarettes, as well as everywhere in the hotel. Not very friendly staff, not speaking any English.

This ibis hotel, with its narrow room, cabin bathroom, narrow dining area and a more than limited breakfast choice will not leave us an unforgettable memory except for giving us early morning access to an indispensable shower after a night on the toy train from Beijing

The hotel is well located, next to the wall and with good bus connections to the various sights of Xian.The downside is that the afternoon staff was very eager to communicate with you and does not want to talk to you.

Fatal treatment of the client.

Ibis had sold this hotel to a local company and changed its name to Chenggong International hotel. The hardware is still there except for the change in management. We all know too well about the managerial skill of Mainlanders. It is still a good deal before things in the room fall apart. I would stay in this hotel any time in the next 6 months or so.

Good value for a hotel room

We wee booked here for 3 nights in august. We stayed the first night as we arrived late. The room was terrible. There was an awful smell of smoke, the bed was wrecked. Hand prints on the walls. The bathroom looking like it was robbed from an airplane. The floor was squeaky and the halls were filthy too. We were collected very early the following morning for a tour but after we returned we checked out within 10 minutes and moved to a better hotel. The staff wee friendly and did give us a full refund for the remaining two nights and apologised to us. It was such a pity that the hotel was so bas as it is in a good location. That unfortunately, is probably the best comment I have about this property.  I know travelling on a budget you may need to put up with some "okay" hotels but this was just too bad.

Bad choice

As the trip was budget concious, will always be hit and miss when choosing a budget hotel. For three nights we paid £60 pounds. Our planned trips meant an early start so we didn't go for breakfast option. Restaurants next door and the city wall 5 minute walk, just outside the wall a good selection of shops, if you needed anything.

Good budget hotel

It's quiet and clean, located in a popular neighborhood a short distance from the subway and the sights, but buses at the foot of the hotel allow quick access.

In the calm

Spent 4 nights at Chenggong International Hotel.  Booked a deluxe single room.  Good-sized room with comfortable bed.  Small but clean bathroom with all the usual amenities, good hot water and water pressure.  Room was very clean and well maintained during my stay.  View from back of hotel is an old apartment complex, kind of interesting.
Breakfast is included with the room and it's a good selection of noodles, eggs, vegetables and breads.  Make sure to get your breakfast ticket before going to the buffet.
Good location near East Gate of Xi'an Wall and nearby is a charming park; the Xi'an Wall Ring Park.  Take a stroll through the park in the morning to see locals practice tai-chi, sing opera, dance and just enjoy the park with family and friends.
It is possible to walk to Drum Tower/Bell Tower from hotel, but bus is recommended.  Hotel has a handy guide for bus/subway in Xi'an and it's very affordable.  Cash is accepted on buses so no need for a card.  Price is currently 2 RMB.
Some restaurants and convenience store are located within walking distance of the hotel.
Staff was extremely helpful and also arranged car to Xi'an North Train Station for return to Beijing.
Will recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Xi'an and definitely stay again should I return.
