We stopped here for lunch after hiking with our family. Several waiters were working, but no one offered to help us. One waitress said “No!” to us as we walked near a table that was prepared... probably it was reserved, but then she walked away without offering a different table.

 So, we chose an empty table, but still one offered to help us. The only visible menus were on prepared table nearby. There were 4 menus there, so I turned my chair to look at one. I did not walk away with the menu, I remained next to the table, holding it just above where it had been placed.

I was shocked when, instead of offering to help me, a male waiter walked over to me and slapped my hand. I assured him that I was only looking at the menu, but he defended his choice to slap me and said that “sometimes it is better to ask first.” He then briskly handed me a different menu and stalked away. 

I realize that moving the menu may have bothered the wait staff, but they seemed too busy to help us and we were merely trying to decide what to order, so that we could be paying customers. We were also traveling with two very young children who were hungry.

After this incident, we walked to a different restaurant less than 50m away and were served by a very nice young gentleman who immediately offered us tables and menus before we had to ask. 

We have lived in the Czech Republic for a few years now, and I know the service here is known for being brisker than in America, but this was not merely brisk behavior. This waiter crossed a line.

The waiter slapped my hand

We had lunch here during our tour of the Saxon Switzerland National Park and it was a great experience. The food was delicious, service wonderful.  They have indoor and outdoor sitting and if you have kids with you there is an animal themed playground right in front of the restaurant. From the restaurant we took a hike down the mountain to the river to continue our tour.  Great day and we were all glad that we stopped here for lunch.  Great choice, don't miss it.

Great Food and an Inviting Atmosphere

This place is above Hrensko if the bus us running it stops right in front of penzion.  But well worth the trip up.  The picnic tables were perfect.  The view beautiful and peaceful.  If you have children they have the perfect play ground for children.  The people that own and work here were amazing and so responsive and helpful.  They spoke perfect English which was a big help for us.  The also spoke German and Czech.  We spent one night here and so happy we did! Worth the trip. The food was like eating a really great home cooked meal. Delicious and hot! Perfect.

Bike ride Prague to Dresden

We visited this place as a part of the tour to Saxon Switzerland National Park, to have lunch. The pork fillet was mouth watering and the vegetable salad with feta cheese was yummy. Don't miss the grilled potatoes with sour cream. Beer and coffee were good too..

Great food and service

This is a good starting point for walking. You should choose which rooms to choose BEFORE. We had an extra bathroom in the room. Everything was kept very simple. Satellite TV is available. But you don't really need it. There was also a water boiler, as well as tea and coffee. The most important thing: it was clean! Breakfast is quite simple and for 5 nights, one-night stands. Last day there was also fresh fruit. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We couldn't complain.

A good starting point for hiking

The hotel has its familiar charm, with friendly staff and delicious food. Various types of rooms, my room had the shower on the room, my own toilet in the stairwell. Everything very clean. Perfect location for walking to the cliff, great terrace with unique views and a playground.

Top location, friendly and family friendly

Nice small guesthouse with different accommodation options. If you want a toilet in your room, you should mention it when booking. Very family atmosphere, unpretentious dining room in the basement and very good kitchen. The staff speaks very well German. Clear recommendation for hiking vacations!

Nice boarding house with different accommodation options

Very small room (10 square meters), shower in the corner with small sinks very separate. Community toilet in the hallway, no TV. We were there with wife and child in October. If I had known the quality beforehand, I would have booked another hotel, the price is too high despite the low standard. Anything else like unfriendly service and poor service would have been too much to bear. All in all: Never again!

Better not - no German standard!

We were there as a group of hikers - adults and children.Our rooms were in the next-door-roofed house and without a TV.In the evenings we looked for the dining room to play cards with the children.But every time we were expelled from there - and that was in a not very friendly tone.It was said that there was a restaurant business - but on both nights there was no guest there!!!Why couldn't we stay there???Customer friendly was that it wasn't - it wasn't a farewell from staff - which was very unfriendly to us!!!The breakfast was also very rare - so we can't recommend this house!!!

Not for groups!
