I was in Prague in August, and prices are generally high, and we definitely found the Hostel Bell and it was a success, as it is very well located, the rooms are comfortable and the owner is very nice.

A good and cheap option.

It was simply the worst hostel we've ever been to! A huge staircase to climb up with so many bags and children, the person who received us was very nice, but we never saw anyone else in the hostel except the guests. In our room there were several mattresses piled up, which made the place horrible for those who are allergic and still very hot! There was only one bathroom with shower, causing all the guests to spend a huge amount of time waiting, besides, the bathroom rack was clogged, forming a pool on the bathroom floor. The internet was almost never working! The location is very good for sightseeing, very close to Wenceslau Square, but we found afterwards that it was a street full of cabbage, making the hostel a little uncomfortable at night... I never recommend going back to the hostel!

It's awful!

We had a really nice reception (after which we eventually found a parking space and then also the hostel) we were helped with the suitcases, shortly and almost the registration was done. Before I had already asked for a reasonable way to park nearby, there was no problem. The suggested area was about 4km away and just in a residential area... fortunately I had already found an alternative. Our room was large but at the same time probably room for unnecessary beds, we could choose which we would take. It was very good because one half was extreme.

Even for the price

It's a great location. It's 3 minutes to Watsław Square. It's a nice place to stay, and if you're lucky enough to stay in a two-bedroom on the second floor, you'll have your own bathroom and bathroom, and you'll have to have a fancy bathroom. Of course, there are no lanterns there and everything looks pretty decent. And you won't even see the garbage unless you go outside before the courtyards.

Budget and convenience.

Amazing hostel, very centrally located easy to get to history Praha center. 
Enjoyed my stay here the place is lively and you will make friends.
Clean, nice kitchen. Room for 4 people had plenty of space and enough plugs for charging.
I would recommend this hostel to others.Very good location,but still very quiet place,I had my privacy,I slept well and the owner (very cool and friendly man) cared if I have everything I need-I'm very much satisfied.

“Ottimo ostello - very good hostel”

This is my third time returning to Hostel Bell, only this time it is under new management. Petr (the new owner) was an excellent accomodating host, and works very hard at keeping the establishment in tip top shape. The hostel is essentially an apartment with different rooms, so you can use the kitchen and come and go as you please. There is a kettle, free tea and coffee, a free shelf, a fridge to store your food, etc. and free WiFi (it didn't work too well in my room but I spent most of my time in the kitchen chatting to other guests anyways). It's a 15-minute walk away from the main attractions and in a generally safe neighbourhood, however if you're a solo female traveller you should definitely keep your wits about you when walking around past midnight (as is the case for most major cities in Europe) Overall I would highly recommend Hostel Bell and would be happy to return again. Word of note - please be respectful of Petr's time and tell him what time you're arriving/departing as he is the only staff at the hostel!

A home away from home

I and a friend booked to stay here for 1 night last minute, and we really weren't disappointed! We stayed in a 2 bed room which was simple and had everything we needed. The hostess was very friendly and it felt like home. Good value for money too!

The hostel was really clean and in a decent location away from the noise. The manager was really friendly and the rooms were decent. It was all single bunks, with a locker underneath the bed. The kitchen is well equipped too and it is a really relaxed atmosphere

Would stay here again

The owner is rarely present. After climbing four floors of the stairs with the bags (there are no elevators), we were in a tiny room with ultra-thin walls (you could even hear whispers from the next room), and the bed of my sister was full of bedbugs (she got over 25 bites!). The kitchen is quite reasonable, but with only one bathroom to serve the entire hostel, in the morning it was chaos.

I hate to give this place only 4/5 stars. The owner was really nice and it felt like I was staying in someone's home and it was great. Very pleasant. My only complaint:

The location of my room. I was on the top floor of the apartment/hostel, no big deal. But my room was located BEHIND the bathroom. Toilet and shower were separate rooms but if you wanted to take a shower you walked in and saw the room with the tub and a door, and that was my room. I kept it locked but there were a few awkward moments when people thought someone was in the shower for 2.5 hours (and they didn't know there was a room there).

But yeah, I paid equivalent of about 17-20$ for a single room on a Thursday night so I couldn't really complain.

Location is good but not if you just want to visit the Clock tower and the others. I liked it because it was on the outskirts so it wasn't SO touristy.

Also, there is a great bar nearby called Illegal Beer run by a young couple. I went there a few times during my stay and it was awesome.
