Skagen

The hotel is price/performance a bit too expensive. It is ring-eared. The room is clean, however. Dog hair in the garden sofa is not pleasant for me. Unfortunately, it is opposite a large fish factory. It stinks of faulem fish all day long (the whole village of Skagen) until late evening and early morning, trucks and trucks. Unfortunately no recreation in Skagen. The only thing you should see is the lighthouse and the landing in the north. A day trip is perfect. But go in the evening at sunset.

It was a coincidence - and on the cover picture the little house in the foreground was our double room with its own lobby! Cozy, clean, absolutely greatly situated - no better! Unusually varied breakfast buffet for such a small hotel - all clean and top-notch!

The hammer!

Not a good experience as probably due to a misunderstanding with the credit card immediately resolved, the owner did not immediately prove so welcoming..so much so that he did not provide us as the other guests the key to the entrance gate creating considerable discomfort at our return from dinner at 9pm not midnight!! They had to open up more guests with keys!

Not very hospitable

Skagen is an expensive, but not exactly romantic tourist castle with high prices. The very friendly host keeps making fancy discount prices to fill the store. The tourist is mid-purpose - noticeable despite a good breakfast and kindness, just really professional. Not for charming holidays, but certainly, when discount time is right, for a stop-off. By the way: the well-converted hotel residence is located not in a charming environment, but right around the industrial harbor. Everything is convenient, but not for the heart. Dogs are allowed, but a huge price tag!

Commercial and practical for a discount night

From the warm welcome we received upon arrival, to the heartfelt farewell when we left, the staff and accommodations here were perfect. 

I brought earplugs for sleeping and quickly realized that I didn't need them- SO quiet. We had a room with a balcony which was lovely to sip wine on and enjoy the soft sounds of seagulls in the distance. 

The breakfast was nothing short of incredible with hot eggs and bacon, but many cold options such as yogurt and granola, hearty breads and cheese, deli meats, fruit and vegetables, and fresh baked pastries. 

The location just down from the docks and various restaurants was convenient and we rented bikes from the hotel at 100 kr per day which allowed for a full day of adventure. 

The bed was comfortable and the decor was light, bright and cozy. 

Quiet and peaceful. The perfect location!

Nice place, beautiful and clean rooms with everything you would expect from a hotel, while still keeping the charming b&b feeling. Great location centrally in Skagen and in walking distance to "Grenen". Excellent breakfast. High value for money. We had an excellent stay!

Extremely nice hotel/b&b

This relatively small hotel with a personal twist are located a short walk from the city center. Had a room on the top floor with balcony overlooking the  wharf with big trawlers. Breakfast was good . Fantastic good beds. The host was very helpful.

Good location and very helpful host

We made a booking here as we liked the location and setting.  Very unfortunately, we had to cancel several hours later due to a family situation.   We were happy to pay some kind of penalty but in fact were charged for the entire 3 night stay with no consideration of the situation.  We were told we could get a reduction on a new booking in the future.  Given our experience, we will not use booking.com again and decided not to make another booking at this location.

deeply disappointed

We booked a room at the hotel because it looks very nice, old fashioned with a lot of style. On arrival we were told that a mistake had happened and that the hotel was overbooked, so we were given the keys to a small appartment in a neighbouring hotel. A modern claptrap place, where on the ca 15 square meter of the room (exclusive bathroom) there was a double bed, a large cupbaord , a fully equipped kitchen, a small garden table and two garden chairs, a long cry from the romatic place we had booked. The walls in that building are so thin that you almost can hear the neighbours breath. We have the impression that the nice hotel is being used as a "honey trap" and that only few people ever end up in the proper hotel. So if and when you book a room at hotel sønderstrand, give them at once a call to make sure that you are in the hotel proper and not in the othet building. We were given a fair discount when we complained the next morning.

Nice and though.....

We spent two nights in this charming hotel, very welcoming, tidy and tidy room, very good breakfast, the possibility of renting bikes and good walks, 5 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from the city centre on foot... I highly recommend it!
