It's a somewhat old hotel but its owners take care to give it a touch of coordinated and friendly attention from the service staff.It's for large groups, with a large car and large dining area.There are rooms with views and others without views, the wifi works properly floor by floor.The price is comfortable and includes breakfast.

It has a garage, they accept a credit card, basic bedrooms, I went with my stepbrothers before we went to Salinas, we had a good time, it has breakfast included and it is well located.

The hotel is located close to the malecón de Guayaquil on a square, a very quiet place to rest, the rooms have air conditioning, hot water cable, enough to rest as a family.

I stayed in hotels of equal cost and with a much superior infrastructure I asked for a wedding and I was given a small and old room completely regretted and the service was terrible the hotel site is not a good sector.

booked last minute for somewhere to stay in the city..easy to find from airport but not in a central location..very close to malecon solada..room very dated and dark. Corridor to room was not very welcoming..breakfast arrangements are unusual..ok food but a piece of paper required and same breakfast every day. Some staff were good but some were surly. First place I've ever stayed where I was asked if I work for the DEA..kept my bags by the room door for the first time ever.
Felt safe walking around area by day..not sure about night-time. Not sure that I would stay here again..a pity as the place could be very good.

oh dear..tired, sad little place

Both the room and the bathroom were very dirty, so we decided to sleep on the mattresses, and there was a huge hole in the wall where the air conditioner was located through which noise and heat entered.

 Poor quality-price ratio

After a long day of riding our motorcycles from Canoa to Guayaquil all we wanted to do was get out of the traffic and find a place to stay. The Hotel Del Rey was the first place we came across and we were more than happy to stay in a major city for $54/night including breakfast. The staff was very friendly and we were able to park our motorcycles in a secure, indoor parking area which was great. The rooms however were very dated, dark, dreary and worn. There was some left over hair in our shower and strangely enough, there was no toilet paper or even a place to put toilet paper in the bathroom. We were going to go down to the front desk to ask for some but we discovered that the two rooms next to us at the end of the hall were totally unoccupied and the doors wide open so we ventured in. One of the rooms didn't have toilet paper either but the other one did so we took that roll for ourselves. Everything was very worn. The room only had on lightbulb in the ceiling so it was very dark. The TV needed to be turned on by hand and even then, you couldn't adjust the volume or change the channel so that was useless. The windows were small and up at the very top of the room where then met the ceiling but the curtains couldn't be opened at all so no natural light either. We got a decent night's sleep but unfortunately, had an issue with sickness in the morning so we didn't eat breakfast. The couple we were traveling with did have breakfast and they said it was fine. Due to sickness, we couldn't ride the next day but we also didn't want to spend a whole day at that place either so we checked out and found another hotel down by the waterfront. We don't want to give this place a bad review as they were very friendly and accommodating but it just needs a total overhaul! The location isn't great. Not near the water or any shopping that we could see but within walking distance to the river. The security guard walked us to the river and to an eating area as he said it wasn't safe for us to go alone although we didn't feel as though it was unsafe at all and had not problems walking back to the hotel later that night. The price is reasonable and if you don't mind a dreary room that might be 100% clean, then don't hesitate to stay here. The friendliness of the staff does make up for a lot of the hotel's shortcomings. Oh, the photos on their flyer look TOTALLY different from what our rooms looked like ... I think the photos must be at least 20 years old. Oh ... I was able to connect to free WiFi with no problem so that was a plus.
