Salinas

Salinas is quite an expensive place to stay. Big Ralph's hostal is a 10-minute walk from the beach and much more reasonably priced than the beachfront places. The room was simple and small but very clean with a comfortable bed. Good hot shower, good wifi and good air conditioning. Ralph and his wife, Andrea, were welcoming and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in future.

Great place to stay on the edge of Salinas

Saw the sign while entering the town and staying with a friend during a work trip. Nov 2015 Just had to go.... Met Ralph, his wife and the whole place was great. Fish n Chips of course which were very very good this far away from home.
He even invited us back for a cuppa tea on the Sunday and showed us around his hotel rooms. Hope to go back one day with my wife.

A weekend in Salinas

to have dinner at the restaurant. The food is delicious and served with gusto. My husband and I have tried many of the items on the menu and we were never disappointed. For us, this is the place to go for an excellent dinner.

Always a pleasure...

A small hostel, welcoming to the most powerful, with a classroom atmosphere and strategic location to have many services nearby, but not to suffer from the noise of Salinas.The menu, although not very extensive, offers very well prepared and presented dishes.The cleanliness and care of the rooms as well as the kindness of its staff, are the strengths of a hostel that is well worth visiting again.

A pleasant surprise.

Big Ralph's Hostal is a wonderful little place in Salinas.  It isn't fancy but it is a very clean and quiet place to call home for a few days while checking out Salinas.  The rooms have comfortable beds and pillows and a quiet air conditioner.  There is a nice courtyard to relax in and wi-fi is available throughout.  Ralph and Andrea run the place and are very helpful with suggestions of what to do and how to get there.  And they also run an amazing restaurant on site.  It is open 5 nights a week and has the best food (by far) in Salinas.

Calm Oasis in Salinas

Our family of three stayed here for one night as we tour around Ecuador. Big Ralph's place is lovely. The room was not huge but spacious enough and the bathroom had plenty of hot water. When we first drove up to the hostel we were a bit nervous because there was a pretty rough looking storefront next door. Don't let this put you off! Once the gates are opened you will step into an oasis! The courtyard is beautiful and all the rooms open onto it. There is a bar in addition to the restaurant and a secure car park at the back of the property. We hope we can return here someday! 

A great find in Salinas

We arrived and the place is cozy and very clean, very clean. The rooms are comfortable. The place is small but very useful for those who want to vacation, meet and stroll. The family, who attended us, who are the owners behaved very well. It is a family environment. And the little princess who passes there is beautiful and educated, for those who like pets (they are the ones who are part of a family). I recommend this hostel for all those who want to enjoy the beach, walk, know the city and above all stroll. And for all that there is always a good attitude.

An excellent place to stay in Salinas.

Despite being very close to the beach, having its own garage and its employees are friendly people, in a very small place, the rooms are small, the TV is 10, has no cable and the signal is terrible, the air conditioning almost doesn't work. When I asked to be allowed to deliver the room an hour later, I received a no rotundo; I don't understand that posture, because it was Wednesday and the place was empty. They have a puppy walking around the place, trying not to strangle him, he is bathed in thousands of fleas, too much to think about.

Deficiency is a problem.

Most locals (Ecuador) go to popular restaurants in Salinas.This place is definitely a place they should visit to get out of the routine!There is a parking lot (on the street) and the site is quite safe (closed with rails), enjoy the food and the unique atmosphere with a lot of tranquility!

Hidden gem in Salinas!

Everything was delicious.You look after the owner and the kitchen is open, which makes it better since you see the shape and how everything is prepared.I went for the food, and the presentation of the dishes is fantastic, and the taste is spectacular.I recommend 100% I will always return spectacularPage happy.
