The room was clean and had all of the things you need (kettle, fridge, towels etc). We had a 'suite' with two bedrooms so there was enough space for us and separate small kitchen area.

The breakfast was shockingly bad - I looked at it and just didn't have any for my entire stay. You're better off just buying bread and eggs and making it in your room (if you have a kitchenette).

The worst part was the horrifically uncomfortable bed. The mattress was  so terrible, the bed was visibly concave to look at. I got maybe 4 hours sleep a night & now I'm home,  my back still hurts. Would have been better to sleep on the floor.

The place could be so amazing. Great location and nice staff - if only they just updated it. They've been able to get away with running the place like this bc very little competition in Ekenas. Now a new hostel has opened, they'll probably start losing business and maybe that will make them change.

The bed was so bad, for that reason alone I wouldn't stay there again.

Good location - bad facilities

Decent size room and location but cleaning very poor. Only after we complained there was an improvement including changing a grubby shower curtain. Not much choice at breakfast. Lots of potential to be a really good motel but need to train cleaners to improve standards and need more breakfast choice.

Needs improvement

Restaurant is fine, nice indoor courtyard. I liked the shrimp bread, the scnitzel was alright. 

Our room was like a bad flashback from 1987. I tried to call room service with the cool museum piece phone, but it was no longer in service. 

So if you're a low budget traveller and revel in nostalgia, go for it. Location is perfect.

Rundown 80's flahback, wholesome food

Hotel close to Tammisaari city centre as well as the main attractions. The occupied room was clean, comfortable, spacious and recently renovated. This hotel is a good stop between Turku and Helsinki and allows to visit the surroundings which are charming. The staff is smiling and breakfast is correct. Parking in the yard is easy but this one could be better equipped.

Well located hotel

If you want to eat Ekenäs' tastiest pepper steak, you should visit this small restaurant. With a nice garden. They also have very good fish of the day.
+ a good little menu for children. Summer open from 14:00 

Family reunion

Location is very good, and had a nice garden and bar area, but other aspects less positive. Rooms in line with 3 star motel rating. Breakfast very disappointing, the selection was not in line with price of room and often things had run out or needed to be asked for.

Weekend away

Great location right next to the beach and the beautifull old town. Desent breakfast buffet. Basic room. Great value for the money. Easy to walk anywhere. Parking in their own yard. Quite ok place for budget travelling

Basuc but clean

We tried the motel’s restaurant which was a positive surprise. They served excellent food.  Salmon was delicious and I got the most generous portion I’ve ever had in a restaurant. 

Good value for money and friendly service 🙂 Close to the harbour.

Restaurant has great food

Motel Marine is a worn down motel, that should have been renovated years ago. It seems they try to save everywhere. The curtains are a joke, the bathroom was awful. Breakfast is poor, some bread, ham, and cheese. Not much more. And yet they charge 100€ for a night. Very little competition in the town of course. On the positive side, the staff was nice and the beds were ok. I doubt I'll stay here ever again although I visit the town every summer.

Avoid

Location is everything here. Was passing through on a surf trip and therefore it was rather handy to be able to drag the boards inside without the hassle of stairs, lifts etc. you get your car right outside the door in most cases so yes, the motel ambiance is real and in some ways in your face too. They offer a breakfast which was a bit simple but if your on a budget it's rather ok. The place is in the middle of town which is in fact rather rare so that's a plus and you get great access to all the restaurants and bars in the area. They offer some water sport related rental  equipment for use at the local beach park (it's across the road) the odd SUP board etc. and that's great. Yes, the rooms are dated and in some cases rather shifty but low expectations equals low stress levels. :)
