Have been staying at this hotel for over 20 years - only once or twice a year. Perfectly placed. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Rooms are always clean. I do not know how people can fault this hotel. Private, closed car park. Dogs at no extra charge. My daughter loves the balconies! Would not stay anywhere else.

We had to wait 15 minutes to find out if our room was ready (arriving at 4:30) we didn't have breakfast we were sent to the bakery when we had specified when booking breakfast. I should have read the comments before

This building looks like a hotel, but in fact it needs a lot of work and a huge refurbishment. In addition, hygiene is by no means his specialty and in this period it is very delicate. This is the first time we have not seen a housekeeper for two days of stay and garbage dragging down the floor. No breakfast proposal. The facade threatens to fall and the balconies do not encourage to go there.

You have to avoid big work

The Belazur Hotel enjoys an interesting location in Calais as it is located on the Place d'Armes. Opposite the Guet Tower and close to many bars and restaurants. But that's the only positive point. Just looking at the decaying facade from the square, you can see that renovation work is more than necessary. Old and not maintained. The 2 stars displayed are almost face to face.

Before I read my review promise me not to go. I wanted to spend a weekend in love with my girlfriend we searched for a hotel quickly on booking.com we saw beautiful photos on the site with a very good price and my girlfriend booked and paid alas. (we should have looked at the comments on this app before) When we got to the hotel the facade is in very bad condition externally, the man of foreign origin speaking very badly French put us in a room about 10 minutes before. We headed to the elevator but if it breaks down once it's 10 minutes after we open the doors.

You're just going to regret it!

It's a nice place, close to the sea, breakfast is included in the fare, the standard number is not expensive, there's cable TV, a bar, and there's a luggage storage camera if you leave late and the room needs to be cleared.)

Stayed one night, now badly bitten by something (bedbugs?), will now have to take the precaution of washing everything and fumigating the bag.

Booked this because we used to use it for work years ago, but it has gone seriously downhill. Carpet was filthy, no bedside lights, door to balcony broken and would not close, shower support broken, fire safety notice missing from the door. Very noisy (town centre location/broken window/noise from other residents in tbe small hours) and did not feel particularly safe.

Run down and badly maintained.

This was a first time visit for my wife and me and, as the heading suggests, it was a mixed experience. 

The first impression was good, as the young man at Reception was courteous, helpful, and spoke some English. He was able to assure us that the square opposite was a safe place to leave our car. (This would not have been the case on two evenings of the week - I seem to recall Tuesday and Friday - as there is a market there on the following days). If the square is not available, there is a car-park for the hotel - at a cost of €8,00 per night!

We went up to our room using the elevator and all looked good. Regretfully, this was not, in fact, the case. The major problem was with the en-suite. The good point, here, was the provision of some toiletries. However, there was no toilet seat - something that may be acceptable in shared facilities in a shopping centre, but totally unacceptable in an en-suite in a hotel! Then there was the shower! The slider bar was missing, and the shower-head just hung down on its piping. As for the hot water - I had to run the basin hot tap, at the same time as my wife had the shower control at its highest - and we still had to wait for some five minutes before the water was warm enough to be comfortable! With metered water, that establishment must have a very high water bill! Running the water into the basin was no problem - there was no plug for the drain! Again, something one almost expects in some places, but not in an en-suite! I did take some photographs - but the SD Card Reader in my laptop has suddenly decided not to recognise any SD Card that I insert! Sorry.

Thankfully, the bed was comfortable, so we did enjoy a good night's sleep - after the noise from the square has subsided!

The wi-fi was acceptable - but I had to go to Reception in order to acquire the access code, and to discover which of the multiple "Belazur" networks was the one that we should use!

So, like the parson's egg, the Belazur was "good in parts". However, it is unlikely that we will use it again.

They say pictures tell a thousand words, we’ll the word these show is horrific. I’ve tried to get money refunded but the hotel are not interested or care.  Please it’s just as sad inside so don’t waste your hard earned money

Just don’t

I've never been to a hotel so rotten! It's sad to let such a nice beat break down like this! One of the receptionists told us that the boss was in prison! I don't know why and it's not my business! But the hotel is in a disastrous state! The reviews say it's a discounted price, but I paid almost 100 euros a night! Plus the garage at 9 euros a night! It will be a unique experience!

Despite the kindness of the reception staff, everything is negative in this hotel, except the location!!
