A place so pleasant and restful we made our daughter's wedding. A secular ceremony in the barn sheltered from the heat, wine of honor in the shaded park and dinner in the beautiful and spacious reception hall. A place with lots of charm. We spent the night in the castle, the rooms are beautiful with a perfect bed Philippe and are always available and always listening to your wishes. I recommend +++++++

Very pleasant guest room in a very quiet area a few kilometers from Brantôme. The castle is beautiful and well maintained. Advised for a very reasonable price/quality ratio. Good breakfast. Charming guesthouse.

charm and calmness

We were enchanted by this small, very well renovated castle, close to Brantome and Bourdeilles Castle. We went there as a family, the charming owner was pleased to tell us about their discoveries when they bought the castle and to show us the photos of the state in which they had found it! This gives even more appeal to this place which seems to hold a few more mysteries. The park is beautiful and it is good to walk in these cool, hot mornings. The bed and bedroom were perfect and spacious. In short, this is a place I recommend for a stay of days (we spent three nights bathing around).

A castle full of charm!

We stumbled upon this chambre d'hote via the tourist office in Brantome. It was an absolute 'find', an ancient chateau painstakingly and expertly renovated by owners Tim and Christine who made us very welcome. We were only going to stay for one night, but decided on two as it was such a pleasant place. We were shown to the blue room, which was enormous and had an en-suite bathroom larger than some hotel bedrooms we have stayed in, it contained a large bath, wash basin, state of the art shower and toilet.
The breakfast was a cornucopia of breads, pastries, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee, accompanied by our hosts entertaining us with tales of their restoration work.
The chateau is set in its own grounds well off the road and one of its boundaries is the local river. The location is very peaceful and quiet.

We were looking for a lovely guest room for one night, lots of offers in castles in this area. We had chosen Château des Granges for a very attractive price, pleasant photos and good reviews from users. Indeed we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this small castle acquired 14 years ago and renovated by a charming English couple. We were looking for a beautiful property, surrounded by meadows and bordered by a very nice river the Dronnelie. Great entrance hall and majestic, beautifully rising to the rooms. Our area was very large, clear, large bathroom with a shower, beautiful by the time. As we were having small dinners at noon and dinner each evening, we were able to see the hostess and hostess Christine, who gently allowed us to eat underneath a very nice park, the Dronne River. We were all very impressed with the beautiful coffee and coffee, and we were all sitting in front of the house. We were able to see the beautiful glass of the same room. What a surprise this little castle is.

We've just returned from Le Grange, the second visit in twelve months. It's the perfect place to stay. The location is superb, lots of things to see and do.The chateau is amazing, and the warmth of the welcome is second to none. We spent this morning exploring the grounds , absolutely stunning, with the river running through. Nothing seems too much trouble for all Tim, our host, who made this short break with our grandchildren very special. They loved being there and felt very relaxed. She certainly has a way of making you feel like family. The breakfast is far and away the best I have ever experienced in France, delicious and copious. 
We shall certainly return, again and again..........

A real gem in the Dordogne.

A carefully renovated castle, a calm and calming environment makes you feel right away.The entrance hall and the staircase leading to the rooms are sober and splendid, of impeccable cleanliness.The room we had, was spacious, clear, tastefully decorated, with soft colors; beautiful bright parquet rooms of high quality encouraged us to walk barefoot.

What a beautiful place

It is actually very close to the towns of Bourdeilles and Valeuil (halfway)... the plan and the photo have nothing to do with the wonderful reality of the place... super home, large rooms and very good breakfast... the castle life!... excellent quality/price ratio

Very very nice... it is

In moments I fell in love with this magnificent chateau. Christine and her family welcomed us into their beautiful home and had no objection to the dogs staying. I have two Jack Russell terriers. 
We were given the very lovely Blue Room; the first to be renovated I believe. It was immaculately and beautifully restored with an en suite bathroom complete with huge bath and a modern shower that just extended the feeling of old world opulence.
Breakfast was a wonderful selection of bread and pastries especially chosen for us by Christine from the local artisan baker. When I went there later on in the day and asked about the bread the bakers wife knew immediately who we were and sold me the same loaf. Also included with the breakfast were tea or coffee, fruit juices and cereal.
We were encouraged to explore the grounds, the moat and the gardens and walked by the river morning and evening with our dogs. It was so interesting and there was so much to see and learn about and that was without even leaving the property! 
We will definitely go back again. I really have to you see I need to look for the piece of my heart that I left there.

A fantastic place to stay....the photo above is not of the place! It is a real chateau with a partial moat, etc... The rooms and facilities are wonderful, the hostess is very friendly and does a great breakfast! We stayed there for three nights - such a wonderful place to stay and so much to do in the area!
