We spent one enjoyable night at this interesting guest house/hotel. I suspect it may be one of those "marmite" places that either appeals or it doesn't. For us, there was a lot to like. The building dates from 1907 and is an excellent example of the architecture of the period retaining many of the original fittings and fixtures. There is a walled garden on two sides of the house with a small outdoor pool and what may have been the original coach house as a separate structure. I understand they have nine rooms.  It is lovely and could easily pass for an authentic prop in a fin de siecle  style movie. The bedroom was a good size (with high ceiling) and comfortable bed. The large en suite had a cast iron roll top bath (bliss!) and a hand shower. Breakfast comprised bread, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, coffee etc served on beautiful plates and cutlery redolent of the period of the house - a very nice touch. The proprietor and his wife (Sophie) were charming, helpful  and welcoming. What is on offer here is essentially bed and breakfast with no frills. If you are looking for modern chic with fancy showers, in room coffee and extra services etc this place is not for you. If you want to pretend that you have just stepped into a Flaubert novel you will probably love it (as we did). We will return.

Old world charm 

My wife booked a room for a week there, easy access from the train (TVG) a few minutes away. Four min. walk. And the taxi station is also right outside the train station, if you need to go elsewhere.
It is walled in with a security code access. The owner and his wife were awesome!
We chose to eat breakfasts there, fruit, nuts, pasteries, yogurt, croissant’s and coffee. That’s about 25.00 euros per person.
You don’t have to eat there, if your on a budget, then again, if your on a budget your probably not going to stay there anyway.
This is a place for grownups, it does have a pool (not heated) and a outdoor place to sit and relax.
It’s also close to a lot of historical Roman Sites.
There are plenty of great restraunts nearby.
This area has some of frances best tasting food.
Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was across the hallway on the same floor, we stayed in the coach house, which gave us privacy, you can hear some traffic on occasion, and trains in the coach house, but not much.
The experience that we had staying was wonderful.
The owners recommended very good restraunts to us, too.
And we’re eager to help in any way.
We will return here again.

Beautiful place to stay

Yves and Sophie have created the perfect retreat in this 120 year old, art nouvel mansion behind high stone walls just minutes from the train station.
The lovely, spacious rooms are graciously appointed with objects de art, finely loomed bed linen and pillows that make you sink into a dream. Crystal chandeliers,  oriental silk wall hangings, plush towels, bath robes, fine quality washing products and the nicest TP I've ever used, all serve  to completely wrap one in luxury.
Breakfast  is served on white linen with fine china and sterling silver.  Fresh fruit,  freshly brewed coffee with warm milk,  exquisitely light croissants with confit,  bio yogurts and fresh squeezed juice are served between 7 and 11AM in a sunny, mosaic tiled breakfast room.
Outside the main building is a courtyard with an iron gazebo,  a small swimming pool and a host of roses, flowers and vines.  All is overseen by an affectionate black cat.
The calm, quiet of this sanctuary is sometimes colored by faint noises of children playing in the school yard next door or by the arrival of trains at the nearby station,  but it's so unobtrusive to a city dweller like me that I actually thought it enhanced the ambience. 
I'd never been to Nimes before but found it clean, walkable,  interesting and filled with charm. I'm looking forward to our next visit. 

A Secret Garden 

Lovely short stay at La Maison De Sophie made our trip to nimes one to remember. Beautiful house, friendly welcome. A delicious French breakfast if you want in the breakfast room. Short, easy walk from the centre and train station 

Nimes visit! 

We stated in our reservation, and then in our reply to the accused of receiving this one, that we came with our three young children in the family. Too young to have a separate room. We were obliged to leave because we could not be accommodated and the reception was below the minimum level of courtesy and apologies that were expected in such cases. Very little effort was made to try, for example, to put our children on a couch that lay there and could very well receive a large one with two sheets on the back of the bed.

Fleeing

It's not very refined, it's a nice building, but everything else is too average, there's no restaurant and it's located in a neighborhood in Nîmes that's not the best, parking is very complicated and the direction of the establishment is clearly lacking in elegance with the clientele.

Not a good memory.

The building is beautiful with a nice garden in the city center, two steps from the arenas. The house has stayed in its juice with cracking parquet floors and frames of venerable ancestors. The staff is friendly and very attentive.

A dive into the last century.

The reception is extremely friendly, the location of the house is good (you can walk to all the sights). These beautiful aspects are however also faced with considerable weaknesses. It is anything but quiet, the train station is in sight, you always hear the announcement (n music) and also throughout the night through the trains, which almost all the way through the room. WiFi is very high. Parking is very high. This is only possible if you are lucky: then in the garden on the lawn, there is a single spot, however. This is a large bathroom, but at no extra cost, the bathroom is very large. For the shower, it is not very easy to sit down.

Beautiful house, great weaknesses

Beautiful country house in its juice, warm and refined atmosphere, spacious bedrooms, excellent bedding, home-like, hospitable hostels and good advice to explore the city and its restaurants.

I'm going to harvest

The manager, Yves, was very pleasant and helpful. I stayed in room 4, which was quite large. It had a small room with a twin bed and the larger room had a queen or king size  bed, lots of walking space and places to sit and relax. The bathroom was also spacious, but only has a clawfoot tub with detachable shower head, so if you like baths then it is okay. The breakfast was sufficient, they offerered tea and coffee, lots of croissants and bread with some yogurt, cantaloupe, nuts and berries. There was a pool in the yard you could use. The location is great as it is only a block from the train station but on a nice street and it is walkable to the arena, about 5-10 minutes.  The wifi was not the best, but you could connect at certain areas better than others. Overall we had a lovely stay and I would absolutely recommend staying there and I would love to return one day!
