This is a beautiful chalet on a hamlet above Bourg. We were a group of 7 but the house would comfortably accommodate 10. Only draw back being lack of loos (4 bathrooms but only 2 toilets). Photos cannot do this chalet justice. It was very well equipped with everything you can imagine. Skiing from here is easy. Short drive to Granges where you can park for free and get on the funival at the mid-station just a few minutes into 1600. Conditions depending, you can ski back to the car at the end of the day.
Chalet was very warm and the bedrooms beautifully presented. Great views from 2 sunny balconies. I imagine it would be great in the summer. Only consideration is access. The last half mile is on narrow, windy roads and if you had a dump down of snow in the week it could be a challenge. I have no idea how quickly the roads would be cleared. We had no such drama thankfully. It is a little way into Bourg but a big Super U just on your way in is easiest. We just did 2 shops and we were sorted for the week. Louise is the owner and she was very helpful and friendly. We booked through booking.com and do note that towels and cleaning are payable locally to Louise.

Ski holiday

The Maison de Calixte is a nice small chalet in the district of Berard, located a few kilometres outside of Bourg Saint Maurice. Louise the hostess is extremely kind and helpful. Even before leaving home, we received an email in which she pointed out the possibility of a table d'hôtes. Since there is no other location in the district, you should take advantage of this. Then an excellent three-level menu was served on the terrace belonging to the apartment. The equipment of the apartment is of a very high quality. The bathroom is at spa level. The flat TV is also equipped with German menus in France. The tower is normally located outside the hallway and there is no access to the program for me, however.

Very largely positive.
Pros: Absolutely beautiful room, really spacious, great balcony with stunning views of the surrounding mountains (It's high up in the middle of nowhere above Bourg St. Maurice) and a rocking chair. There's a kettle, which is rare in France. The dinner (you have to order in advance) was very good, with fresh fruit and veggies from the garden, and great value. It was served on the balcony, which was lovely. There are only about 4 or 5 houses in the hamlet, so it's really tranquil.
Cons: This is a B'n'B, basically a room in a house, so there is no check-in desk and the only way to get hold of Louise after arrival (e.g. for a drink) is phoning or texting. The glass of wine included with dinner was rather small. The toilet is down the hallway, not in the bathroom.

Definitely recommended.

Almost perfect

The room is very comfortable, it's a pity there's no toilet in the room, the dinner is excellent, we could have a quiet lunch together.

Very quiet

Arriving on Friday evening for a whole weekend in the guest room and table, we were delighted. The place is quiet and peaceful because a little far from the city centre of Bourg Saint Maurice, a very nice village to stay in. The room is beautifully decorated and very cocooning. The welcome of the housewife Louise was the warmest with always a smile and unfailing availability. The dinners that we were served in the guest room were divine and cozy and prepared by the hostess if you please. Everything is made at home. So we highly recommend this place for all nature lovers and thank and thank Louise because she had a great weekend.

We only spent one night here but felt part of the family. Louise is an excellent hostess. The standard of the rooms is exceptionally charming in decor and all is very clean. Dinner was served in the room and at €20 each for 3 courses including wine was value for money. A very good and ample breakfast also and to wake up to the mountain view is invigorating due to the altitude of the hotel. Unhesitatingly and highly recommended.

A super place to stay in all respects

This is a beautiful guest room, located in the heart of a small hamlet in the heights of St Maurice village, halfway between the 1600s and St Maurice village, in a traditional cottage.

Helpful Directions from Louise by email:
In Bourg St Maurice you take the direction for the ski station of Les Arcs during 4-5 km and after the big left turn you have a small road on the right with the direction "LE CREY - LE BERARD", you take this road for 3 km and cross the village LE CREY then continue straight in the forest and you arrive to Le Bérard.  You enter the village and in the middle of the village you take the small road on the left. Parking is up this road.

On Google maps it is D119 until the right turn off. The road is quite steep and interesting but only takes 15 minutes. But then you will want to have dinner on the balcony and not drive back into town. Louise prepared the most fantastic dinners.

There are two rooms that share a toilet - for a family if are staying. Our room was very romantic, modern, and comfortable with a large walk in shower.

A good centre for visiting the valleys and mountains.
