This gîte is called a stage for the pilgrims of the Via Francigena but they have nothing of the spirit of the stage gîtes the money first of all! we arrived at some pilgrims indeed not to step there but to meet the hosts, to talk and ask them to validate our arrival stage with a tampon. we were coldly told that they only put the tampon on their customers. it is unfortunate, we did it at people who also hold a stage gîte in Amette without being a customer there they did the tampon we discussed a charming welcome unlike in the Val d'Omignon. you do not deserve to have the logo of the Via Francigena on your bitty you have nothing in mind.

Unfortunate reception

We spent one night here on our return to UK. It is farm specialising in equestrian pursuits, especially carriage driving. The family were welcoming, helpful and friendly and spoke good English. The room was small but clean, the bed reasonably comfortable but some better pillows would have made all the difference. The room faced the road  and without double glazing could have been noisy but fortunately there was very little traffic so we slept well. The weather being very hot however, we needed to keep the windows open and were unsure about this as the pavement ran close to the windows but all was well. Bathroom was fine but towels were small and somewhat worn and some glasses or cups in the room would have been nice. We had been hoping to picnic outside but the small table and 2 chairs in the yard wasnt really suitable but our hosts found us a nearby restaurant where we had a good meal. All in all, although the accommodation was basic and had some shortcomings, the pleasant and helpful hosts made the stay OK.

A basic, no-frills place to stay

My father is walking the Via Francigena from Canterbury to Rome and I'm joining him from Arras to Reims. M. et Mme. Wynands were wonderful and gracious hosts for an evening, providing a comfortable sleeping space and amazing home-cooked food, both dinner & breakfast. Oh that my French was better but they were so lovely at bridging the gap. Would love to return one day for horse riding and canoeing!

Via Francigena

I reviewed this B&B on another website, so I'll just summarize:  It was quite good, a bit off the beaten track, and the room had some insects. However, the owners could not be nicer and the atmosphere of the countryside was excellent.  Once one knew one's way, it was easy to get around the area near Peronne and the Somme valley.

Good to be down on the Farm

I stayed one night in this guest room. The positive points are: - Located in a very quiet village - Clean - The family that manages the hostel is welcoming - The bed is comfortable - Breakfast is good: creamy, bread, butter, jam (not homemade... damage!), tea or coffee, milk The negative points are: - The decor is frankly not terrible, it is old-fashioned - There are moulds on the wallpaper in the room and on the wall and ceiling of the bathroom - The wifi does not work properly until in the room (it works in the dining room, but it is where the residents of the hostel, so...) For 60€, usually, the rooms are generally a little better off...

Too expensive for the quality...

We enjoyed a short one-hour ride (a few horses and a carriage) perfect for beginners. Our guests know their region well, love to share their knowledge of nature and horses and know how to explain the basics of horse riding to beginners. A real sharing of their passions! The ride is quite simple and the moments spent with the family during a beer tasting were very warm. Finally, Trefcon is far from everything and offers a perfect green setting for a day or two! We highly recommend!

That's very welcome.

The couple who run this place couldn't be more welcoming. It's a chambres d'hotes which means you eat and drink with the family. The meal was fine and we had a very good evening talking with the whole family (all of whom have some English if you don't speak French). Trefcon is a charming little village
