After a long journey, late at night we decided to do a quick stop and sleep at hotel F1 in Verdun. There was no one at the hotel at that hour, but in front of the hotel, there is a machine which you can use to reserve your room. There were three cars on the parking lot in front of the hotel, however the machine told us that the hotel was full. It looked so unlikely that we checked our phones and found that in the internet, we could book the hotel. I paid it happily thinking, yippee, we would finally get in and get some sleep. Except that when I inserted the reservation code I had received by email, the machine in front of the hotel told me it was invalid...

There was a phone number available for us to call in case of trouble. It was a payable number, but desperate enough, we called it. Just to get the answer phone...

There was no way to get in the hotel. There was no one there. The phone number did not work. Tired, but now furious, we drove to another hotel of the same Accor chain - where we ran into the exact same problem - and to yet another hotel, this time not an Accor hotel, where we finally slept. 

The following morning, we went back to hotel F1 to report the problem and to claim to have our money back. They could not help us. Finally we managed to get an email address which to contact. However, when we received the response, it was like another cold shower from Accor hotels: the person replying to us was practically insulting, practically accusing us of lying to them about their machines not accepting the reservation code.

The fact remains, we were not able to enter in F1 because a machine refused the code we had received after having booked and paid for the F1.

We are escalating the worst possible "customer service" from F1 at Accor Hotels. And still trying to get our money back.



Avoid at any cost, or it could be costly to you

Poor hotel, rude daytime staff, and not sure how to respond when you say hello. Reviews of the outfits saying that there were male workers here; and seeing the very sharp looks and movement of these men I understand. The small rooms, the somewhat dubious beds, the shower and the dirty toilets. There are still TV and shops nearby, but for the quality and above all I forgot about the dubious noises at night, I would have preferred to sleep somewhere else.

Visiting

Noisy, dirty shower and toilet, smell of cigarettes, breakfast not sufficiently supplied, wood bed, no napkins, mattresses or pillows.

Running away

We stayed in Hotel F1 for a night. It was okay, the reason I say okay is because in our room we’re multiple bugs: spiders, moths, flys etc. The shared toilets weren’t bad but they weren’t the best and although
this wasn’t the actual hotels fault, however there was a lot of drunk people and the 9 people in our family staying there found it very difficult to sleep with all the noise being made. On the contrary, the breakfast was normal breakfast but I thought it was nice and the service of the staff I found was very nice. Would I stay here again? Probably only for another night. Would I recommend it? Probably not.

Okayish to spend a night in

We couldn't find any hotels available, so we went to this F1 hotel, which offered us a room. After settling the score, bad surprise: the room, bed and sink. The bathroom and shower are in the common hallway on the whole floor. There is no air conditioning in the room. And all that during the heat episode at the end of June 2019. Cleanliness; deplorable! Shower is a minute's coconut, two fingers to fall into the apples. It is unacceptable that at the reception, this detail is not the payment point. Lunch is ridiculous. It is a shame to offer guests this kind of pseudo hotel adventure!

What to Avoid

Toilets and shower in the hall. has youth hostel character. for a simple overnight stay but ok. quiet yet convenient to transport. staff was helpful and friendly. price/performance fits. a bit of accommodation but still clean enough

For the simple overnight okay

If all the hotels in Verdun are full, take this one, but only for one night. The staff is nice, it's clean... but the showers please! Being asthmatic, I had to open the door to get some fresh air, because the cabins hold (too well) heat. And the water jets almost pierced my body from side to side... Anyway, for just one night, it'll be fine.

For one night, it passes.

I know that the hotelF1 are a cheap nights stay but they have now stopped providing towels in the rooms or you can rent one for 3 Euros !!!!!!

This hotelF1 at Verdun is in great need of upgrading it is showing a lot of of signs of age and use. My sink was blocked when i arrived and no one to help, had to fix it myself.

The shared showers and toilets really do show the use they get and although the hotelF1 are know for their cheapness to not even offer towels now is outrageous, what next bring your own bedding or chair ?

You might as well stay in a youth hostel at least you get breakfast included.

Location is outside of the city and you cannot walk into the city but it is next toe a Buffalo Grill for average dinner.

The WIFI is good the only positive.

Leave the hotelF1 to the Polish builders who seem to invade them at the end of the day.

Pay the extra 20 Euros for the ibis budget hotels at least you get towels and an en-suite.

They do not supply towels now !!! hotelF1 are showing their age now. All need a major renovation

Just like the other hotels in the chain, this is a good hotel, even if the bed is very uncomfortable and the TV is poorly placed but for the price it remains correct, a positive point very well located next to a restaurant (buffalo grill) and shops.

Very well located

For a weekend, yes, without too many requirements, clean room, shower, jet, I confirm is a jail cell, for TV, no remote control, so don't look.
