This quiet and cozy guesthouse is located really perfectly. Two minutes to the metro and bus stop, 5 minutes from the zoo, a supermarket nearby and a farm market 3 times a week. A lot of shops, Zalando outlet, etc. are not far away. The Tiergarten Park is also easily accessible. Our room overlooked the inner courtyard, it was very peaceful. The room is large and clean, cozy, with a refrigerator. A huge advantage is that there is a breakfast free of charge. It consists of several types of cheese, ham, vegetables, cornflakes, milk, tea or coffee. The most important thing for me is  how much friendly the staff was, my daughter and I were welcomed as family members. This is worth a lot, especially nowadays . Thank you very much and we hope to come back again!

Nice and warm place

We found the hotel Pension Classic to be a great base to experience Berlin as the Wittenbergplatz station is literally right outside. The hotel is clean and the Breakfast had plenty of choice. The staff were also very helpful and friendly and we would definitely stay again. 

A great base to see Berlin 

Excellent value for money in a central  location near to bus ant tube routes. It’s basic but just the place if you’re on a budget. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s clean and well run. The breakfast was fine. There was an Italian restaurant next door and a more traditional German restaurant on the other side. We had excellent meals in both. Would happily stay there again.

Great pension hotel in a central location.

Pension Classic provided what we need : spacious , clean room for the three of us with clean bathroom. It’s two floors up by stairs to hotel entrance, but stairs wide and not steep at all. We had room overlooking the Wittenbergplatz .
Breakfast was decent with regularly replenished items - including good quality coffee.  Few vegan items bought “next door” ( Edeka supermarket - open till late night but closed sundays) . It allowed for a good start of the day. There are many restaurants within walking distance if desired. 
Location was perfect: very close to subway ( across the square ) as well as approximately 500 m from the “scenic route bus 100”. 
We had a great week .

Friendly staff - Great location

The whole place would benefit from a coat of paint. If the shower curtain was not contained within the shower tray, the water would run down the shower curtain, onto the floor and into the bedroom. The breakfast was below average, for example, the slices of cake were wrapped in cling film, if not eaten, they would appear the next day; no pastries. Other 3 star hotels we stayed in that week proved fresh scrambled eggs, bacon and pastries as well. The rooms' internet connection was via a booster plug, which did not work when we arrived, so we could not finalise plans for the next day. The next day, the booster problem was identified by the receptionist, who knew the booster required to be reset. We got reliable internet, but only with the room door open to the hall way. Unfortunately it turned out that the booster required resetting every day. After 7:45pm, there were no staff in the hotel, so no one to ask for advice or to reset the booster. Berlin hotels are expensive, but I don't believe this room, costing 400 euros per night, was worth it.

We really enjoyed this very small hotel in the centre of Berlin and facing a metro station. Our room No. 4 was very nice, clean with a bed of 160, a sofa bed, a large cupboard, a table and 3 chairs, a modern bathroom, a very beautiful view of the square and yet calm. Breakfast was varied and cozy. The staff are very hospitable and helpful. When we arrived at 10:15, we were even offered our room key, to have our breakfast. This is the first time we are offered this! On our departure, we kept our bags until 3:00 and when we arrived, we had tea... you will not be disappointed...

It's perfect.

Very nice hotel located two steps from the subway. As soon as we arrived in the morning very welcome. We were offered a breakfast. The very clean room number 8. Breakfast proper. We left for the airport scheduled for the afternoon we were able to leave our bags. When we picked them up we were offered a coffee while waiting for the taxi to arrive.

Travel to Berlin

The pension is perfectly located on one of the main shopping street. Central area - very good for all the buses, U and S.
Nice size room, tidy and comfortable.
Staff at the reception was very nice and always ready to help.
Overall a very good choice!

Perfect location and nice staff

Pension Classic is an elegant property on Wittenbergplatz, convenient for Berlin’s excellent transport system. My room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. The bathroom facilities were excellent, as was the WiFi connection. The price included a varied and good quality breakfast in a charming room. Staff were welcoming, helpful and courteous. Thoroughly recommended.

Classy and Classic

This hotel is about 100 steps from the Wittenbergplatz U Bahn station. The stairs are beautiful, like walking up the stairs of a grand palace. We found the young lady on reception most helpful and courteous. Our room was quite adequate with a safe available (for free) in the wardrobe. Breakfast was more than adequate and set you up for the day. From here we travelled around to the touristy things, including the Christmas markets, on two single day tickets on the underground. Would certainly recommend it and would definitely stay again. Thank you.
