The staff at the reception and at the restaurant on the island of Dune (where breakfast was served) were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was rich and delicious. There were super delicious buns, hot and cold food at the buffet, salty and sweet, coffee, tea and juices. The (single) room was kindly furnished, matte colors, a private bathroom with shower and a small balcony. It's not all perfect, but I felt comfortable here.

Helgoland, my favorite island in the north

Everything was fine, the rooms were clean, everything was there, we didn't miss anything. The breakfast was very good, rich and delicious. Since the weather was still very sunny, we also used the balcony, here would be a little more privacy.

Perfect for a short vacation

The Hotel Helgoländer Klassik has recently been renovated. The hotel has been abandoned in the style of the 1960s and even rebuilt its furniture. From the room with a view of the dunes you have a beautiful view of the neighbouring island of Dune and the wellness area in the basement of the house is really great. Unfortunately (!) the hotel has recently become part of the Storytels, an operation that has specialized in efficient processes. Breakfast takes place together with the guests of other houses in a neighbouring building.

And I don't want to talk about sleep when you just hear that BSSSS on your head. Thinking will come back, but not in the insect era. So just this limited assessment. I hope the embassy staff took care of the mosquitoes. I informed them on the way out so that the next guest could have a better time.

The room was well maintained, classic and convenient. An excellent view with a not so private balcony. Very good and friendly guest service and a great breakfast buffet! Absolutely recommended for Helgoland lovers!

A wonderful short vacation.

For the first time, we planned a longer stay and were very well maintained here. The room was very clean, spacious with plenty of storage space. Everything was taken into account, the first refrigerator is free, as well as coffee and tea. There is a water boiler. The balcony by the sea with a beach basket (something that came in the years) is great. You could see the sunrise from the bed. The reception was in the parallel street and also the breakfast, but you can get used to it. If there was anything you could turn around or call this hotel and it was immediately responded to. Service staff spoke a little deaf, but was very pleased. I can only recommend this hotel.

The reception for the hotel is not at the hotel and a small paper just on the hotel door is showing where to find the reception. The reception guy was very unfriendly and not helpful at all. I asked if the room could be with sea view and he just said  ‘you get what you have booked’. I don’t feel welcome here. Hotels for me are welcoming guests and pampering guest. The feel good factor is missing completely and definitely this hotel is not telling a story neither is it stylish.
Entrance of Hotel is a construction place and very unpleasant. This hotel is not a hotel, it’s just rooms. Staircase not nice. My room is street view , 1 st floor, and everyone can look inside. Bad view. Unpleasant room with bad taste and old furniture. The quality, the service and the staff friendliness is bad for the price we are paying. Can’t recommend and won’t ever come back here. I am even thinking to claim money back for misleading description and communication.

Worst hotel ever

Meanwhile, the Classic Hotel is managed by a central service, which unfortunately was not notified to me when I booked, resulting in unnecessary inquiries and searching for the point of departure. Despite the quiet pre-season, this service was not up to date, it simply lacks communication with the guests who were given several years ago by the occupied reception. Booked additional options simply go under, or there is no information about changes and can not be perceived as such. Too bad! Rooms have come in years, yet clean, but not the flair that I expected. Early normal, the service forces are very convenient! For me not to recommend.

If it doesn't keep its promise...

The hotel was not occupied during the day, so you had to go to an agency on the parallel street to check in. The room: bright, tight and tidy. Breakfast was only available on Sundays, from Monday onwards you had to go to the Rickmer Insulaner Hotel. In three days there was no room service! On my complaint I was told that I had been informed in advance of this situation. Unfortunately, this information was not accurate! The room door was not locked properly, the bathroom sink did not run out. This was all for $89/night (EZ). When I had to leave a day earlier due to a change in schedule, the rooms were still closed for the period. Other hotels in Helgolden stated that the situation was not accurate.

It's a thought!

I wanted to spend a little time in Helgoland. By chance I came across this hotel. Like all over the island, you feel like you're back in the 60s. The hotel is clean, in the central reception (there's no one in the hotel itself) Helgoland embassy you'll be greeted kindly and get the necessary information. The island is already very empty at that time. With the catamaran you can get to the island very quickly. My room with sea view was fantastic. On the balcony there's a beach basket. Even if it's already cool, you can enjoy the sea view. You had to book a sauna (well equipped) way. The breakfast is delicious and the view is gorgeous. The hotel was not going to include a luxury, but I would come back with a luxury, so every time I'd have to fill the sea with a minibar.
