We had stayed in this hostel for four nights for this year's C3 in Leipzig. We had booked a double room with a bathroom, and we got it easy. Our room was comparatively large, but there were no cabinets and only a few drawers. A reasonable cleaning space was only badly possible. Especially since the little furniture in the hostel was partially defective. There was a TV with all the channels actually known. The TV itself was decorated with various elevators and even when it was on HD, there was a HD-remote. It was not bad for us, but maybe it was worth watching. Notice that the bathrooms were clean, but they were almost completely cleared. The bed was almost completely empty. The bed was almost completely unwashed. The hostel had a single bed and a large shower, but I was aware of the fact that the two people in the front of the bathroom were still in the same room. However, I could only see the bathroom at the end of the day because the bathroom and the bathroom were just as well connected.

We have stayd at this hostel a few times now and we love it. The rooms is EXTREAMLY simple so don't expect anything fancy. It's good living for the money and the location is excellent near all traum and S-bahn lines.

- No hot water in the shower
- No roomcleaning during the week we stayd.

Otherwise we love it and will be back! Very friendly staff with limited english knowledge but very friendly.

Simply but great!

In general, it is a very pleasant hotel, with bright large rooms. From the main train station it is about 10-15 minutes' walk at a quiet pace. There are no signs, there is only the name of the hotel at the entrance door. It is quite large, but not very attractive. The hotel has two entrances, the one on the side of the street that is closed for the night and the exit from the yard is used, but it does not bring any particular inconvenience. The commands are very large and light. The windows are all the way across the room. Near the hotel are tram roads, when the windows are open, they are well heard, when they are closed, it is almost not heard. Bed at the convenience of the middle one, very low-rise can always cause discomfort.

It's a great location for average money.

We stayed at the Hostelbar when we guest lectured at the nearby university in Leipzig. Bizarre name. Rooms are private with a bath. Pretty bare bones, like a hostel but private like a hotel. Super location near city center, but on a super busy, loud street. Ear plugs needed. But the biggest problem was the ownership, apparently. After hours - which is often - you have to come and go out of the back door rather than the front busy street. Very dark, back lot. Scary. Worse, there were two of us staying here. My colleague and I had different hours with the university and different social obligations. So we both needed keys to the outside door. Well, the management ran out of keys, apparently, but the back door was rarely locked. We didn't think it was a problem. Then my colleague got locked out one night. Imagine being in a city in a country you have never visited. We are Americans and this is Germany. You get locked out in the middle of the night and it's 45 degrees out. Nobody to call for help - call the Hostelbar and you get an answering machine. Miserable. Awful. The next day, we asked for another outside door key. Told them what happened. They were apologetic, but still No luck. This was the case for days. How inconsiderate. The back entrance is inconvenient and scary. Really a ridiculous set up with the keys. Stay somewhere else. Wifi was sporadic - a real pain sometimes. And we needed the wifi for work. for two weeks the price was about 850 euro. Wow. Expensive for what you get.

Skip it.

A big plus for: big room with own bathroom, very clean, nice and friendly lady at the reception, comfortable bed and ideal location between Lepzig centrum and Karl-Liebknect-Strasse, where you can find a lot of bars, pubs and restaurants

The location is fine (stopping just outside the door, 10 minutes walking to the city), the staff friendly, the room is fine.

Good place to stay for half a night...

We recently needed somewhere a cheap and halfway central accommodation during a trip to the Christmas markets. This was certainly the right choice and nicer than I expected. The room was really, really big and very clean. Our room had its own thermostat to regulate the floor heating (a great luxury when it snows outside!). The main street ran in front of the house, so of course you'll hear a bit of traffic or from the trams, although I didn't think it was pressing enough to bother me. The lady at the reception was kind and very helpful, but didn't speak English.

Very good hostel.

Needed somewhere cheapish and reasonably central to stay on a recent trip to the Christmas markets. This certainly fit the bill and was nicer than I expected.
Room was really, really spacious and very clean. Our room had it's own thermostat to control the underfloor heating (great luxury when it was snowing outside!)
The main road runs outside so naturally you will hear a bit of traffic/trams, though I didn't find that this was intrusive enough to disturb me.

The lady at reception was friendly and very helpful, but didn't speak English so a phrasebook will certainly come in handy if your German isn't quite up to scratch (I fall into this category, alas).

Was max. 10 minute stroll to the marketplace. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here if visting Leipzig again.

Very good hostel

Hostel was good and cheap. Great spacious rooms with own nice looking bathroom. Room didnt had airco so was a bit hot and when you have the window open trams and trafic will wake you up in the morning. Hostel is only a 20/30 min walk away from downtown leipzig. When arriving there were some problems and the guy didnt wanted to let us in first because he thought it was annother day. English of the staff was not that good. 

Great hostel

I needed a room for a short night in the centre of Leipzig. The hotel is a ten-minute walk from the city centre and the reviews are quite good. At the first glance from the outside, I was a little surprised, since the hostel and the surroundings from the outside do not produce much. Well, I had booked and didn't want to stay forever. The welcome was very friendly and there was even a garage around the corner for the car for €6,- a day. This made the atmosphere a little brighter. I arrived in the room, but I was surprised. It was clean and the mattresses were pleasantly positive. Free WLan and satellite TV were still on top. The hostel was at the top, but I could still sleep well at night, with all the convenience, although I could not sleep well with a good night's sleep.
