Very cosy and riendly family-operated old German hotel. Service was good and friendly. No ariconditioning in the rooms, but cleanilness was good. The restaurant offers homemade traditional German kitchen, and very good food.

Cosy old fashioned German hotel

The Ruhekrug is a traditional inn with good bourgeois food at low prices. A very nice service to it! Ambiente has come a little in the years, but you can ignore it. Urig is the best fit...!

Honest household meals

We slept well, but in the morning, when the traffic starts, you wake up. Main Street is in front of the door, if you have a room out front. Breakfast was good. Dinner was also good. Anytime is recommended.

Hotel is on a sidewalk

A small family-friendly hotel is very convenient for car tourists. It has its own restaurant, you can't go anywhere specifically. It's visited by even locals, which shows the quality of the food. The room is quite spacious and very quiet. The only drawback is very bad internet. It only works in the lobby near the reception, and it also works very slowly.

We have nothing against the charm of the 60s and 70s but you should also invest in the substance. Beds were clean mattresses but very thin and underneath a plate, so you sat with the potato right on the hard plate. So the quality of sleep was also gone. Smell in the whole house is a little dusty, muffig. Rooms are very rustic including the carpet which is to look at the age. Once the possibility of overnight travel may be i.O. It was without words (see pictures) and the location behind the house and we liked very much (liffe romantic optics) parking spaces for guests. Breakfast books are but there is nothing extra from the hocker. But we wanted to stay for a longer night, but at the end of the night we were not allowed to come to the local staff and the service was very nice.

Idyllishly located, very clean rooms from the last century without the impression of being inhabited, small bathroom, a good breakfast with nice buffet-style service, beautiful views of a beautiful garden, very quiet

Nice hotel with good breakfast.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. It was very cozy. The rooms were spacious enough, and very quiet, although there was a road nearby, but very little traffic. The night was generally quiet. There was a free parking lot. There was a decent restaurant. There was no special culinary skills, but all the food was fresh. The staff spoke very poor English, so I had to explain it on my fingers. But there is an English menu in the restaurant.

Very cozy hotel.

I was there with my partner. It's very quiet and relaxed. Breakfast was a buffet and more extensive than I've ever known. Lunch was very good, I can recommend the french fries. They really fixed me up. Rooms have good beds, simple bathroom and a TV. Bus stop is right outside the door. Now they also have Wi-Fi, which would have bothered me otherwise :)

There's no WLAN, fries are a dream.

Stopped over here with 2 other adults and a child when driving up to Denmark. 

Lovely hotel on the outskirts of Schleswig. Beautiful gardens with carp/goldfish in the ponds. Beer garden busy and hotel bar sells tasty local beers. Wooden outdoor play area for kids. 

Not a place for young people. Suitable for families with young children or older guests. Our room had a great view overlooking the ponds and it was very big - 2 doubles as well as a table with two sofas.  The only real downside for me was the lack of wi-fi in the whole hotel. 

Hotel is 15 mins drive from town centre where there is a harbour and a few nice restaurants and 5 mins drive from the main motorway to the north/south. 

Really good value for your money and suitable as a base for exploring the area or as a stopover location.

Charming Traditional Style Country Hotel

Ruhekrug lies off the main roads and combines parts from different times - the new wing perhaps from 1970´s? The rooms are rustic and offer the basic amenities. The restaurant is an ok traditional German restaurant with a nice view to the pond in the backyard. Breakfast surprised us positively. Moderate prices, ok quality ratio.
