Radolfzell am Bodensee

We stayed there for two nights. The first night we got room number 11 at the 2nd floor. It was pouring with rain outside and there was thunder and lightening. Then it started pouring inside our room. Both down from the window and from the ceiling. The curtains and the floor was all wet in the place around the window and the cracks in the ceiling. So we had to call the emergancy number, 'cause it felt unsafe! 
I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all! We made a complaint but only got 20 Euro off the price.

Unsafe hotel room when raining

It's a nice hotel in a historic house in the middle of Radolfzell. The rooms are well decorated and the staff are very friendly and hospitable. Shopping facilities and restaurants and bars are in the immediate vicinity.

Class price performance narrative and very centrally located.

First the nice staff The room was fine for one night Now the other things The parking facilities are underground. There is a large parking lot about 500 meters away. With suitcases rather unfavorable. The rooms are poorly insulated and it pulls. The bathroom is more like a toilet. The TV is smaller than a PC screen and from the bed you look pretty bad. Otherwise it goes for one night

That's how it goes.

The room was small and inhabited, absolutely dark, because half the lamps were defective and that, so audible for a long time. The TV was in miniature size, the beds very uncomfortable. From 6 a.m. onwards, sleep was no longer possible due to the extremely loud bells of the nearby church. The breakfast was bad, breakfast was at least from the day before. The food was not tasty, packed cheap. The price of 122€ for a double room for one night was almost negligible. It could have cost up to 55€. For 40€ more we could have stayed in the ***** upper island hotel in Konstan with a giant breakfast night. A giant missing from our side.

Absolutely disappointed.

The hotel is in an old house in the city centre, old, sloppy and stuck in time. When we arrived on Saturday afternoon, it turned out that it doesn't open until 2 p.m. and there's no parking space except somewhere in the crowded area. The rooms were simple and clean, but the shower gave up its spirit and the bathroom smelled bad. I wouldn't book anymore.

Don't expect too much

Positive first: the location and the exterior appearance, but otherwise I can only join the other reviews: the whole hotel seems uninhabited until it needs renovation. But the biggest disappointment was the breakfast, which was advertised as rich. This seemed unpleasant and unattractive. All in all, the two nights we spent in this hotel around August were far too expensive.

The price-performance ratio is not true at all

The hotel is well situated, in a charming historic building. The reception is reserved but polite. Be careful, at night, there is no one at the reception and no concierge, only an emergency phone number. But the real problem lies in the relationship between the price of the rooms and the layout of the rooms. The rooms are noisy: poorly soundproofed and without double glazing. They are also poorly equipped with central lighting (or faulty?), the remote control does not work, the laundry provided in the bathroom is worn until the tray... The common parts of the room are refreshed and the decoration is inconsistent. The breakfast is decent, the price is disappointing.

It's expensive for the hotel level.

I was in Radolfzell for two business days, and unfortunately the only room left was the Hotel Krone. If I had stayed longer, I would have changed the hotel after the first night. Positive: -The location of the hotel in the old town negative: -defective furniture in the room -toilet in the bathroom not fixed to the floor -The towels were antique, completely hollowed out and out -my room had a poor general state neutral: -There was breakfast

or in other words, the crown is the crown! TA reviewers' comments are full of hits, literally black! 3 stars that are all glowing! The situation alone is ok! Price - performance not traceable and cleanliness not necessarily being written in the rooms, stairs and hallways. All in all, totally deserted! Really no recommendation!

It'll put the crown on the guest...

I stayed at this hotel because it was included in a prepackaged bike tour. The location was good, central in charming Radolfzell. Unfortunately this hotel does not deserve to be on anyone's list of desirable destinations. On arriving, the lady at check in was business like and abrupt. The room was dark and the furnishings old and run down. The carpet should be replaced as should the sofa. The mattress was too soft and the bathroom amenities were very skimpy. Just an envelope of soap, no shampoo or body lotion. It was a hot day and I asked if we could have a fan, but there was none to be had. We wanted to have a beer in the restaurant while waiting for a friend, but that wasn't possible either. The hostess made us feel like it was an imposition for us to be  even just waiting there. The breakfast buffet was a joke. No fresh fruit, choice of Müsli, just some hard boiled eggs,  rolls and cold cuts. This place writes the book as to how not to run a hotel!
