A great weekend in a nice guesthouse hotel in an interesting city. The location of the house at the old harbour is romantic yet central, the house itself is well maintained and well equipped (even a pool is available), the breakfast is of great quality (with fish plate etc.), but the real trick is the food. Let me put it this way: Behind the facade of a country-style guesthouse hides a specimen that meets the highest standards.

Hidden Treasure

Obviously we arrived a little late for this region, but we still got something to eat at 21:00 😂. The facility was not spectacular now, but everything was clean and inviting. The service was friendly and nice, orders were accepted quickly, drinks and food came very quickly. The food was super delicious, fresh and sufficient, so not too little and not too much! Only the drinks were etwas expensive from our point of view, however, the food is worth mentioning at absolutely moderate prices. All in all, a very nice restaurant with friendly service and delicious food - we can definitely recommend and is worth a visit at any time!

Nice & fast service, delicious food

We visited here as we always hear about it & it has a very prominent location in Tönning - you cannot miss it!
Anyway - we got seated. 2 of us had a Schnitzel with cream sauce & mushrooms and we asked for roasted potatoes instead of rice - not a problem. When the dish arrived - at was easy to spot that the mushrooms were not fresh, but came directly from the jar. Same for the cream sauce - straight out of the sauce powder package. Very disappointing for a well known restaurant. 
The 3rd member had a fish plate - with salmon, plaice & cod. Salmon was good as was the cod. The plaice was plain boring - normally a very nice tasting fish. Here no lemon - no salt etc. Had a dill sauce with the fish - sadly also here straight from the pre-fabricated sauce powder package. 
All in all - too pricy for the food you get and is clearly a classic tourist trap.
Service was ok.
The food was nothing special & there are several other locations to choose from in Tönning.
Very annoying that they do not have a non smoking area outside!

The service was very friendly. The location is very romantic. The food was good but not so good that we could have rated it with five points. Still a very good recommendation and we would visit this restaurant again.

Romantic location

It was a very delicious meal. School was full of food and the Tönniger fish bowl was just as big. Everything tasted really good from the taste point of view.

Delicious fish and chips.

We came here to have a drink and we were snorted to sit at the opposite table. Now my wife and I have been married for 30 years, living in the same household. But this waitress wouldn't let that apply. And it was in that red tone that we got the drink, so we felt like we were not customers but beggars. - Conclusion: Never ever again. That was cruel!

It's hard to be unfriendly.

Because of the Against the Winds in St. Peter's Order we decided to buy this hotel. I just made a totally understandable decision on the phone and I had to book book booking.com with the option of free cancellation 24 hours in advance. On the night of departure, our flight was cancelled on time and without replacement. I immediately informed the hotel that we could not travel. An employee or Mr. Peters himself (I can't remember the name of the hotel, unfortunately) just decided to make a totally understandable decision on the phone and I was instructed to send an e-mail cancellation request directly to booking.com, so that we can only pay the full price for three days or so without replacement. On a cool, windy Thursday, we return to the restaurant, where the atmosphere is quite old-fashioned - well, let's see. Some locals have a snack of fries at the counter, which is nice! We want fresh fish. The card is very extensive and makes the choice difficult - too many temptations! We decide and for school full and seating filet with claw. The service is very friendly and attentive. Both meals are entertaining (which for a more fish-abstinent like me!). We close with an espresso and are more than freezing overall. Furthermore, the prices are absolutely fine.

It's an unexpected high.

We were here on vacation. The welcome was harsh but cordial. The food (large selection of fish) was tasty and very plentiful. Unfortunately we had to wait a very long time. For this, the view of the old harbour rewarded us.

Food is full

After our visit to the Multimar Watten Center, we went to the small harbor area to eat there. We highly recommend the rich fish selection. The North Sea crabs are especially delicious. We were very satisfied and would go back there.
