Extraordinary view + Safe destination + Clean apartment + Hospitable and great hosts !!! Ι highly recommend staying at Lefkanthemo Studios & Apartments!!!  I wish I could stay longer!!! A place where memories are created!!! Loved it!

Lefkanthemo Studios & Apartments! Loved it!!!

I stayed at Lefkanthemo Studios for two weeks in November. Situated just minutes from the town square, with spectacular views of the castle and chora, Lefkanthemo studios sets you right in the heart of the best of what Astypalaia has to offer. Argyro and Antonis were exceptionally kind and generous hosts. Argyro was always on hand with local tips, friendly advice and sometimes homemade delicacies and Antonis even invited me to accompany him on a jaunt up into the mountains to gather saffron from the crocus flower. Lefkanthemo is just minutes from the town square and chora (where you will find a few small supermarkets, an ATM and all the main cafes and restaurants) so even in the off season when the island is much quieter everything you need is within walking distance. It's fifteen minutes on foot to the beach at Livadi (yes, you can still swim in November!) Even Agios Konstantinos Beach is accessible on foot for the more adventurous (it's a spectacular one hour walk from Livadi on winding roads along the coast past churches and farms). It might seem a little daunting arriving by ferry in the off season but Antonis was there to meet me at the port in the wee hours of the morning (even though my ferry was late!) and Argyros arranged a perfectly timed taxi to the port for my departure. The island is very quiet in November, the light is mellower, the rhythm of life is slow, but there's a real magic to this place. For solo travellers without a car, or if you're looking for a different kind of escape I couldn't recommend this place more highly.

The charm of village life - with spectacular views

Antonis the great Host and outstanding farmer will provide you with everything you need! The site of Lefkanthemo is the best strategic point for Chora Astypalaia, just in the center,  looking at the castle hill. The apartments are very clean and smelling nice,  also they are noise free. If you want to go swimming on foot there are 2 nearby beaches in Livadi and Pera yialo witch is the secondary port of Astypalaia! You’ll just enjoy your vacation there!

Dreaming vacations

The Greek islands are apart from their beaches known for the beautiful “choras”. On both fronts Astypalaia excels and Lefkanthemo champions the chora! A 1 minute walk away from the pedestrian only Main Street with the idyllic windmills and the coffee shops, once again our stay was made pleasant by the owners. Clean large rooms, central spot and one of the most beautiful island of the Aegean keep us coming back for more. Till next time! 

Second stay - All time favorite

Argiro was a great host, friendly discreet and attentive. Our room was spotless, with comfortable beds and a fantastic view of Chora. The location is very convenient, close to everything and easily accessible and the price was great vfm. All in all a AAA experience and l would definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience

Everything about Lefkanthemo was superb. Antonis, the host, kindly collected us from the port at 9:30pm and brought us to the apartment. There was a very kind welcome drink and a lovely bowl of fruit in honey. The room itself (apartment 4) was an ideal size, with everything that we needed for the stay, There was a nice sofa, plenty of storage, a nice kitchenette with a good fridge, a coffee percolator (so important! :D) and plenty of crockery and cutlery. The bedroom is up on a mezzanine level, and is a sort of futon-ish type. Very firm and very comfy! There's a net curtain that covers over the bedroom, but if you need darkness to sleep, you will do well here as there are shutters on the outside window that provide pretty much complete blackout. The evening view from the balcony was very pretty, so we didn't get to appreciate the daytime view until the next morning. Stunning. The sun rises facing the apartment, so you get the full benefit for breakfast, but is nice and cool in the evening to sit and watch the harbour. The location is great; just a five-minute walk from the main square with the restaurants and bars. There is aircon, but we didn't use it so can't comment on how good it is. Argyro and Antonis gave us so many good tips about the island, where to go, which beaches to see, restaurants to visit etc, which was really useful. As we were leaving in the middle of the night (01:50 boat!) to catch the ferry back to Piraeus, we booked that night too, which was great for us as we could have dinner before heading to the port, then leave the apartment at just after midnight. I cannot recommend Lefkanthemo highly enough. Wonderful hosts, and a lovely apartment in a perfect location. One tip? If you don't like hills and cats, Astypalea is not the island for you :D We were sad to leave and hope to return very soon!

Just wonderful!

The location can't be beat: a short walk to the chora square, tremendous view of the castle and chora hill as well as the old port and the east half of the island. Easy walking access to the port and the near beaches on the west side as well as the entire old town and castle. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, with good insights about the island, favorite beaches and other spots, as well as restaurants and excursions. The studio was very clean and comfortable, well-equipped, and quiet. We'd certainly stay here again.

Great location with comfortable and friendly accomodations

Clean, tidy, complete, daily cleaning with a change of sheets etc. in a quiet and hospitable environment. Wonderful island where I would return today. Food, warmth, sea etc... anything you can ask for on vacation here you can find it!!!

I spent a few days in Astypalaia at the beginning of July. After doing some research, I checked and booked at Lefkanthemo by phone. The owners were super nice, my room was nicely decorated, very clean and cozy. The location of the rooms is brilliant as you are right next to the choir and have an incredible view from your own balcony. I'm sure you'll visit the Lefkanthemo next time!

You can only recommend!

We stayed at Lefkanthemo for the last 4 days and had a lovely time there. Spacious rooms, friendly owners (kudos to Antonis and Argyro) and a breathtaking view of the old castle and the old harbor. The studios are really close to the town, within a 2 minute walk to the coffee shops with the lovely local cheese pies. Really a 5 star recommendation!
