Great bungalow , clear and space & great  view. Walking distance to the Beach about 200 meters down a easy slope. Large Beach. Very kind staff and nice Village nearby to eat. Ten minutes drive by car to Gythio.

Great location, kind people

To be honest, I was expecting this area of Greece to be arid and with little green, but I was amazed at the lushness of every kind of plant, in the shade there is always a beautiful coolness and there are also many scents of flowering plants. The structure shows its age, so I can't give the highest grades, especially the power plant wouldn't pass the security checks that I think in Greece are similar to those in Italy. But I have to say that the buildings are charming despite the signs of the weather, very spacious and fresh even without the help of the air conditioner that we just turned on for a few moments, stunning the panorama towards the sea.

Deep in the green

The structure is immersed in an olive grove overlooking the sea.The beach is located about 150 metres from the bungalows which are authentic all-comfort, spacious air-conditioned and equipped houses.

A great location at reasonable prices

We stayed in a bungalow and it worked just fine with 2 adults and three children.  The beds were comfortable. The hostess was very helpful in ensuring that we had all we needed.  We had a great stay and enjoyed the lovley surroundings.  The beach is only ca 400 down the hill and both a bakery and a food store are  within walking distance. We really enjoyed the stay.

Beautiful view

This place offers a great view on the ocean from every bungalow as far as I can tell. There is a more the friendly welcome at the reception by the owners (elderly couple) and their, what I presume is their granddaughter. 

They are very helpfull and are very service minded. Bungalows are being cleaned every day and they offer you help where they can.A mini- and a super market are in walking distance. At the town square (2 minute walk) you can find 3 taverna's that offer great meals at fair prices. 
Walking to the beach will take you 3 minutes on average. They way back will certainly take you longer since you need to go uphill and this will take some effort. It is more of a clim then a walk, so arrving at your bungalow will feel rewarding. 
The houses are a bit out dated but that doesn't bother us that much. What they lack in modern looks, the people working there will make up for it in service. The houses are provided with basic utilities and cuttlery. It has everything you need to prepare a simple and small meal. 

If you feel like you need a relaxed holiday without the stress of mass tourism, big crowds and pushy people, this is the place to be. Sitting in your private garden overlooking the mountains and the sea will bring you the peace and quit you are looking for.

Cozy and friendly, simple but great!

We booked the bungalow half hour in advance and they prepared everything for us in order to enter immediately. Great view, staff so kind. All measures against covid respected. Literally 5 minutes from the sea. If you look for clean, calm and by the sea Bungalows go there!!!!!! 

Perfect!!!! 

We recently spent three nights at Cavo Grosso.  Our welcome was warm and we found the bungalow to be spacious and bright with a well equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, comfortable sitting area, good WiFi and a lovely breakfast. The location is within an hour of both Mystras and Monemvasia and close to local tavernas and the town of Gytheio.  This accommodation suited us perfectly as our jumping-off spot for the surrounding sights, but would also be a great choice for a beach holiday.  Would highly recommend.

Good base for exploring the area.

This is the third time we have spent our holidays in Cavo Grosso in Mavrovouni. What attracts us here? The wonderful host family, attentive, very friendly and yet discreet. The special bungalows in the style of mani buildings, which in their simplicity fit perfectly into the landscape. They are clean, in a good condition, tasteful and also lovingly decorated, the beautiful garden with fruit trees, olive trees and Mediterranean flair. And not least the fine, elegant early morning with a lot of homemade, with local products and traditional Greek ingredients.

A wonderful authentic place to vacation, beyond profane tourism

Beautifully maintained complex, only 350 m from the large sandy beach with sunshade rental, bars and taverns and still no mass tourism! Very nice owner family. Each unit is its own bungalow with its own terrace and view of the sea, basically very well equipped (for self-catering but rather less), comfortable beds, very clean, 6 x per week cleaning and towel change. Fantastic Greek breakfast on the large loggia overlooking the beautiful garden and the sea. We explored the whole Mani from here.

Highly recommendable

Loved the hotel as we had our own bungalow with a kitchenette. The bedroom is a separate room. The bungalow is quite spacious, suitable for 4 people. The furniture is not new, but it looks neat and tidy. Each room had air conditioning. There were mosquito nets on the windows, so you can not be afraid to leave the window opened for the night. The bungalow was clean. There was wi-fi, but it worked intermittently.
Our bungalow had its own terrace, there were a table and chairs. You could relax in the fresh air there, for example, in the morning have a cup of coffee, enjoying the view. During the day you could sit under a large beach umbrella.
Conveniently, there is a private parking space near the bungalow.
Shop and cafe are nearby. The beach is within walking distance.
The hostess and the personnel were friendly, told where to go, what to see next to the hotel.
