Hveragerdi

We stayed with Inga for a few nights on our last trip to Iceland (Nov. '16) and I've probably recommended her place to all my friends every time they talk about going to Iceland. Her house is warm and cozy but modern and bright. The added feature of the cutest dog in Iceland, Greg, helped to make you feel right at home. Inga has a hot tub that she was more than happy to get ready for us, (so nice to just turn on a faucet for hot tub water!) and although we didn't see Northern Lights, being out under the stars was incredible. 

We spent two nights in one of Inga's guestrooms and while sharing a large main bathroom, we felt we had sufficient privacy. Inga's breakfast was big and filling. 

Inga is a local renown potter and we got a tour of her studio and little gallery. You should ask her to show it to you!

Perfect Guesthouse in Hveragerdi

We spent the night at Inga's at the end of our stay. Beautiful house and the rooms are really very beautiful. The bathroom is big, clean and beautiful too. Breakfast was really nice and with fresh produce. Thank you very much to Inga for her hospitality and a caress to Bruce (super nice little dog)

Beautiful  home in a beautiful area. Inga was a very gracious host. Large, well furnished room with lots of natural light and views. Comfy bed and large shared bathroom. Optional breakfast was nice. Bruce, the dog was adorable.

Beautiful home in Hveragerdi

Staying in a wonderful house the night before arriving in Reykjavik. Close to the Golden Circle, but also in Hella. Large, spacious, cozy, clean house in the middle of nature.

Wonderful house before arriving in Reykjavik

Slightly tricky to fine but worth it. The rooms were incredibly comfortable and cosy, and the bathroom is huge with a lovely rainfall shower. We stayed for one night after doing the golden circle, and had breakfast at nearby bakery in Hveragerdi (recommended by Inga). Inga was a great host and gave us tips on how best to hunt around for the northern lights. We would definitely stay here again!

A very large room with its own seating. Very, very nice and helpful, but absolutely not intrusive host Inga. Tea and coffee available free of charge. Co-operation of the private kitchen. Community bath, very clean, very large and very modern. For a rich breakfast with cereal and fruit we were even surprised with a delicious egg omelet we really liked it

Beautiful, private house

If you head out of Reykjavik and take in the Golden Circle, this is a good option before you take the ring road to Vik.  It costs around $105 per night and breakfast is extra. And the guesthouse is a ways out of town. But the house itself is ultra modern and Inga is a gracious and friendly host.  Free wifi and nice rooms make this a good accomadation option. It is also very comfortable and clean with beautiful views.

Pleasant place to stay after Golden Circle

Inga was such a lovely host. I stayed for only one night and really enjoyed it.  She was very welcoming and made sure I was comfortable during my stay and helped me find some off the beaten path things to do.  A wonderful place to stay and only a short drive to the town.
