We had three encounters with people who were dirty: in the hallway, in the room at night and during breakfast; one came up and landed unconsciously on the table.

Bad stay

It is a classic, family run albergo in true Italian style: dark with vaguely baroque decor, nice shady restaurant terrace, ample breakfast and a lovely Italian Senora who will help you with any questions. Our room had a gorgeous side view of the lake and was large enough, with a comfortable bed and small private bathroom. The senora gave us a special ticket to park our car in the nearby car park- for free!!!! A real plus point - thank you! The best thing about the Rocca was the location - a one-minute walk to the lakeside promenade, three minutes into centre of Garda with all its shops and quaint streets, five minutes to the beach.

 · It is located on the main road - so it is of course loud. Ear plugs help!

The ultimate Italian experience and good value for money

We happened to be in this hotel, untreated dirt everywhere rooms we had to sleep clothes for the lack of hygiene in the rooms in short a sin for the care of the hotel given the almost central position in a spectacular place

We Did Not Think With Our Eyes

A while ago we were on Lake Garda place wonderful breathtaking views we wanted to stay a few days we decided to stay overnight in this inn we entered and already at the first impact and was uncomfortable looking out of here and they made us go up to the room and my eye falls on the past red that red then had nothing dirty and strange colors entered the room even worse sheet of different colors and dirt wherever the bathroom seemed to withdraw from the wartime decided to go away too late had already paid for the worst night never slept for anything sitting on the bed legs ranchy to wait for the day again

A Terrifying Experience

They should shut it down, knock it down with napal and c4, never seen anything like this... be ashamed be ashamed be ashamed be ashamed be ashamed be ashamed... call the noses, ulss, blue green red cross, ants in the common bathroom one floor with five rooms, Booking.com doesn't say... avoid avoid avoid if you want to live a few more years...

On booking it presents itself as a hotel by the lake, covered with edera. It is actually a horrible inn to which I give a star only for its proximity to the lake. My boyfriend and I found ourselves in this beetle at a cost of 65 euros per night (not even worth 10) and fortunately we booked one night. Staff all but cozy, dirty room, the bed was broken from one side, the bathroom was completely absent and we used the common one where there is not even a bucket of shampoo, a single power outlet, the gate on the main road but the windows and windows are thin and we can't close our eyes too much to the way the bread is coming. The morning sun was almost too bad after the day... One word: scary.

The location of this hotel was 5 mins from the bus station and 1 minute from the lake which is ideal for touring around the Lake and the restaurants, bars, shops and port were a few minutes walk at most away with a great variety of places to eat/drink. My 1st floor room was spacious and clean and had a sink unit and an electric fan. Yes the hotel and room was dated but I found that it did what it said on the tin!  Breakfast was a variety of fruit, meats and was good. Owners and staff were friendly - the owner struggled with English but they had someone who spoke English well and I had no problems at all communicating. 

On the downside the traffic noise from the road directly beneath the rooms means you can’t really sleep well with the windows and shutters open but you get used to it and I did sleep well enough with them closed and even though it was hot and humid the electric fan did the job adequately with the windows closed. The shared bathroom was busy in a morning so you have to wait until it’s free but again, when you book you know this and you either know that a shared bathroom is a mixed bag or you book someone ensuite. The cleanliness of the shared bathroom was average - again it was dated, busy and old but it did the job for a 2 night stay. 

Overall I would say that the Albergo All Rocca is ideal for a cheap and cheerful short stay to use as a base to explore Lake Garda and is great for single travellers. You get what you pay for in general but I think when you read the reviews and look at the hotel online, you know what you will get for the price. For me, I slept well, ate well, showered and got about my business so this was a good stay and good experience at the Alla Rocca for me and for a short stay I would use this hotel again if necessary.

I had a great short stay here for business and found that this was great value for money

1 hotel on the main street with windows in front of the house. The windows vibrate with great accuracy when every car in the street underneath is going through. All the noise is fragrant, powerful. 2 the walls are made of paper. 2 the walls are made of paper. Right in the room next to me is a person who sleeps hard. I can hear him as if he was sleeping in my bed. People who are fighting and making loud body noise in other rooms or on other floors feel with great accuracy. The glass structure that hits. ALL the NOTE. 3 long furniture or any way customers are stuck in a half of the moisture, brand new model of the bathroom that was 50 years ago. I can hear him as if he was sleeping in my bed. The worst place I've ever been.

The hotel is in Via Virgilio (and not Vigilio) and is close to the historic center of Garda and the lagoon. To tell the truth, thinking about the reviews and the 1-star catalogue, we were prepared for the worst. In fact we did not hear the so decanted noises coming from the state, nor from the rooms attached.

We thought worse.

It's a very nice place, with a lot of available owners, the area is perfectly close to the beach and the center, the atmosphere is like home, and the prices are very affordable, including parking.
