We have stayed in this pleasant hilltop place where excellent wines are produced and a wonderful cuisine dominates! The Barbanera farmhouse combines all the pleasant feelings to make a good vacation, the open and friendly reception, the large nice and clean room with a breathtaking panorama, the swimming pool to relax, finally a very pleasant cuisine. What can you ask for having spent two pleasant days, all with quality and price in honesty.

Back with Friends from nearby Liguria, for sporting reasons and after problems with rain, water to say the least...and therefore without being able to perform well as planned: it was also expected to be an INSFICANT DAY in all respects, we stopped at a nice bar in Calamandrana (AT) and asked for a restaurant, but they recommend us nearby and for the time, no longer... unfortunately pleasant.

It's a meaningless day.

A beautiful location in the quiet hills of the Monferrato, Sergio the Romagnolo Veneto has made himself a quartet to meet our needs.

I have been to Ferragosto, you eat very well, excellent price quality and service... above all congratulations to the chef SERGIO, who if taken even next year we will definitely return.

I was having dinner with my wife a few days ago at the Barbanera Agriturismo in Calamandrana(AT), calling only a few hours earlier as I was in the area, and I found a really good hospitality and courtesy from the owner, sir Sergio.A nice and brilliant Roman manager who offered me and my wife a great dinner based on local food and quality meat with as many local wines, red and white.

The Barbanera is situated on a hill, with a splendid 360° view of the innumerable hills of Piedmont. The dining room, where the owner can spend the day at the reception throne, in old Altrosa, as well as the rest of the hotel, is not a problem, with which the street character is well described. The numerous rose bushes receive one in the courtyard, a firmly installed stable stands between the main building and the tourist pool. Everything is tip top clean. the only thing great about the place is its surroundings. what a beautiful place on top of a hill surrounded by vineyards.

the rooms are ok, typical 3 star. bathroom is big however the shower is right next to the toilet without even a shower curtain to separate them. And you d better bring some slippers, am not too confident about how clean the floors are.

the service is 2 star. very unfriendly owner. sneaky, tries to over charge at every occasion.

My family of 4 with dog spent one night here with our friends - another family of 4 with 2 dogs and it was just what we hoped for.  Spacious family rooms with beautiful views of the owners' vineyards and the surrounding countryside (good walks) with the snow-capped Alps in the distance.  The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful, suggesting places to visit.  We hadn't booked any tours of the local wine producers and found they were all closed, so the owner very kindly organised a very interesting tour of his "Cantina" for us, although the best time for this kind of visit is in the wine-making season from mid August to mid October.  The biggest plus of Agriturismo Barbanera is that, unlike many Agriturismi, you can have a delicious and ample dinner on site and try out their fabulous and wide selection of wine without anyone having to drive!  Their wine is also on sale to take home and I strongly recommend their Barbera "Nizza"15%, but all the wine we manged to taste in one evening (Gavi, Barbera 13,5% and Brandy) was excellent!  They also organise wine tasting in the afternoon if you'd like to sample all their wares.
