My sister and I just loved this place in Vernazza. 
We arrived a few hours later than anticipated due to a train cancellation, but  Annamaria was very good at communicating with me and understanding the situation.
Once we did arrive, Barbara showed us our room which was delightful! The location is away from the main part of town, just up the hill past the police station, about 2min from the train station. It's across the street from the best restaurant, La Pirata, and near a trailhead for hiking. The location is superb and so is this place! Everything was perfect! There was a misunderstanding about my booking three nights, but Annamaria made it right by letting us stay in the apartment in town for our last night! What an awesome experience! Staying in an apartment made us feel like true members of the community! It was wonderful!
 Camere Fontanavecchia is in a great location. I highly recommend it for its location, for the great communication with Annamaria, and for the price. It's very quiet at night, and close enough to the train station to catch the train. 
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in Vernazza, but as my sister said, the stay was just too short! I agree! We could've stayed in Vernazza a month, and it wouldn't have been long enough.

This is the best hotel and location!

Great location, was quiet but close to beach and train line. Owners are lovely and very accomodating. No ocean views but looks over surrounding farmland and properties in Vernazza. It is a magical place to stay in once the crowds leave after 5/6PM. 

Food is exceptional in Vernazza! Would highly recommend getting up early and walking the coastal track to Monterosso for a swim and breakfast. It gets very busy after 9:30/10am in summer. 

Couples Getaway in Cinque Terra 

We must have had the "bad room" compared to the other reviewers.

First, we were surprised to receive a communication the day before our arrival that the proprietor "preferred" that we pay cash.  So to be friendly up front, I payed cash but received no receipt.  I now regret that decision.

The room was quite small.  We had only two carry-on sized suit cases but had to put one under a chair.  The shower was even smaller.  It was barely okay for us, but some larger people won't be able to get through the door.  The furnishings were quite cheap such as a plastic chair and towels with no nap.  Our internet worked for only one of our four devices and it was pretty slow.  The building is in a quiet part of town but the inside was not always quiet as the wall separating us from our one adjacent room was quite thin.

It was clean and the beds were quite comfortable.

Vernazza is a very cute little town and there aren't a lot of lodging choices so maybe this is as good as it gets.  (I hope not!)

On this trip, we stayed at 16 different hotels and this was one of two where we had a sub-standard experience.  Our experience wasn't even close to the high ratings that made me choose this place.  Would I stay here again?  I don't think so.


Cramped quarters; cheap furnishings; non-working internet

This is a beautiful and quiet location. Right across the street is a bank with an ATM, a laundromat and the best breakfast/lunch cafe in Vernazza, II Pirata. The room is cute, comfortable, and SUPER clean, literally spotless! If we ever return to Vernazza we will definitely stay here again. 

Comfortable, super clean, and cute!

We stayed one night in the Fontanavecchia room. The very kind and available staff. The room is clean and tidy. The location is excellent for visiting the village and getting around by train. In front of the rooms a fabulous bar for a top breakfast! Super super recommended!! Average price.

Nice discovery.

Very welcomed by the guests, very friendly. Located a little far away but close to the centre and the train station so very convenient. Very aging room and bathroom and very fine walls, we heard from the neighbours. Poor price ratio.

Aging

This was a lovely room in Vernazza, just a very short walk up from the train station.  A quieter part of town, but Vernazza is so small, it was just a few minutes walk from anywhere.  An average size European room, very clean, comfortable bed.  The hostess Annamarie was easy to communicate with, although we had no issues during our stay. 

During our stay, we ate breakfast at Il Pirata, a small restaurant half just up the hill from our room - which was very convenient.  Many other restaurants close by.  I'd highly recommend Comere Fonanavecchia.

Nice stay in Vernazza

Nice and very comfortable room. Excellent location a minute's walk from Vernazza station and two steps from the centre. Perfect starting point for visiting the five lands.

Great for the weekend.

This hotel is located a bit further away from the harbor, but that was actually quite nice. It was very quiet (except for the small stream in front of the hotel). It was very clean, the room was spacious enough and was equipped with the basic. I had a private bathroom outside the room, but the bathroom was clean and the shower was great! Annamaria is a lovely hostess. 
Good place to stay in Vernazza!

Good hotel with a great hostess

Great starting point to visit the Cinque Terre, a step from the station (but no noise is heard..) and two steps from the main road and the marina. All without stairs (which, for those who are not more than twenty years old, is not to be overlooked!!!). Very comfortable rooms, clean, air conditioned, refrigerator and many small taste details that make a difference.
