Having travelling as family we wanted to experience the traditional Japanese style hotel and this is where this Hotel fits the bill. We had a family room which had ample room able to sleep 4 adults comfortably. Mattresses were provided so you don’t have to sleep on the floor. The provided dinner and breakfast was delicious filled with traditional Japanese cuisine. Highly recommended

When in japan, a must do to try a traditional style hotel

Stayed in "Shirakawa" room on the forth floor. Way too small room so for only one person can bearly sleep in. If you have some kind of phobia for the small, closed space (without window) then avoid this place. Otherwise, the restaurant service and the food was outstanding for its value. I guess Kyoto is too popular among tourists so has pretty limited option for the resonably good priced accomodation, so I guess it was justifiable for what I paid.

Too small room but satisfied with service

Ryokan is located 150 m from Kiyomizu-Gojo Metro Station and 700 m from Seikan-ji Temple. You can also very easily walk to Kiyomizu-Dera and Kodjai-ji temples. This ryokan is frequented by Japanese people and a few tourists. A few people speak English at the reception and 1 at the restaurant. The Japanese-style room we had booked was actually tatami, futon, rice grain on one side, yukata, we also had a toilet, a lavabo and a bathtub. Courtesy dish and sweet specialties offered. Possibility to use the common bathrooms on the first floor: a Ladies' Room at a Ladies' Room for dinners and breakfasts, including breakfast, we never had to offer the same price, we never had to offer the same price. We have 2 rooms, a lavender and a bathtub.

100% Japanese

The Ryokan is in a good location, not far from Kyoto Station and a 10-minute walk from the beautiful Kyomizu Temple. You can easily get there by taxi (about 750 yen) but remember to bring a print of the map, possibly in kanji characters. The hotel is spread over 5 floors in pure Japanese style. The hall is actually a Japanese souvenir shop, but very nice. In the basement there are hot tub, the bathroom is clean, comfortable, safe and relaxing. The staff, who also speak English, are extremely kind and available. The rooms are very spacious, pleasant and with all the amenities: a nice cup of tea, yukata, lazzolino, ryokanet, etc.
