We had a terrible experience. I visited with my friends and we booked the Royal Suite because we wanted to enjoy the jacuzzi. We arrived to the room and the floor was dusty my white socks turned completely black within 10 minutes of arrival, but the housekeeper was nice enough to give the room a sweep. After that, we wanted to fill the jacuzzi (the whole reason we booked the most expensive room in the hotel for) the water was warm but not hot so we waited a bit but it just kept on getting colder. We called the reception he said there might be something wrong they will try to fix it and we could try in 30 minutes, after about 3 hours the problem was still not solved and we were getting furious. Finally the receptionist told us that it turns out they can't fix the problem it's gonna have to wait till tomorrow. We demanded to leave and they wouldn't give us our money back after a lot of arguing we came to the agreement of booking the suite some other day.
The next time we arrived we had the same problem regarding the dusty floor but this time the very rude receptionist said the housekeeper wasn't available since it was Sunday evening  so there was nothing he can do. Also cutlery was left in the sink unwashed and there was a water bottle under the couch which is evident of the poor cleaning done. This time there was hot water but it was coming and going not very consistent. The next morning we asked for a late check out of 2 pm instead of 12 pm since no one had the room booked for the day and the same rude receptionist also declined and gave us a lame excuse. 
It was an awful experience and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Such a waste of money. I don't really have anything positive to say to be honest.

Awful stay

The staff are attentive and helped us when we asked for it, but there were a few things which need improvement. 

- The rooms generally need an update / lick of paint. Windows were absolutely filthy. 

- The water temperature in the shower kept fluctuating between freezing cold and boiling hot on the same setting, making showering difficult. 

- The wifi was very slow despite the hotel appearing quiet. 

- Toilet seat broken. Housekeeping didn’t ever do anything about it. I did mention it to reception but not sure if they understood me and I didn’t want to ask again. 

- Maid service inconsistent. Some days we got all towels replaced, some days just the big towels, some days they didn’t wash or replace the mugs and glasses but sometimes they did. Tea bags not replaced when used. 

- Breakfast very basic. Maybe because it was quiet we had table service rather than a buffet. The trouble is, it was ‘get what you’re given’ rather than being able to choose what to have. We only had it the first day and didn’t bother after that. 

I’m sure some of these would have been sorted if we had requested specifically, but some things should be a given I think. I shouldn’t have to ask for cups to be changed. 

On the flip side the location is fantastic. The good location, staff and price compared to other hotels is why I’ve given 3 stars rather than 2. 



Great staff but some improvement needed 

I've stayed for 13 nights, 13-26 Sept 19, at room 501.

(I'm doubtful that this hotel has true reviews, or that it deserved the 8+ classification on booking!

Pros

- Excellent Location
- Front Desk Staff polite, courteous, responsive and prompt "in regards to small issue only"
- Housekeeping staff are polite and prompt

Cons

- Service at their only restaurant is horrible
- Serious issue with hygiene and cleanliness at restaurant (Check pictures)
- Food Service staff impolite and rude (except only the senior, Mr. Ali)
- Food quality is sub-par
- Worn out plates, tables, chairs, chinaware in general, some are even cracked!
- Hotel is Expensive for it's quality
- Rooms are outdated
- Problem with electrical appliances and connections
- Worn out furniture (check pictures)
- Lack of maintenance for electrical appliances and connections which could be life threatening!!! (Air-conditioning was dropping water on TV, when informed hotel they did nothing!)
- Dirty linens (check pictures)
- Staff promised better room at booking or check-in, then under delivered!

Excellent Location! The rest is Awful, or mediocre at best!

very good location near everything  i needed, in "Hamra"  the animated area of Beirut with many shops, restaurants & coffee.
The staff was excellent, generous & helpeful. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable.
All  of that made my stay in Beirut really great.

very nice stay

What a day ...
So after arriving into the hotel and getting out of the taxi , my welcoming party were few guys in front of the hotel speaking loudly with lots of swearing, yelling ( they were guests ) but I thought that's non of my business... tiny check in...also not an issue , welcoming reception ( the only positive thing in this place) , was asked to wait for an hour plus to be checked in as the room was being cleaned ...
So as this was in Hamra area I went for shisha and a bite to kill time before going back to what I thought would be a cool , funky boutique style ,4 star rating hotel ( I think the shisha made me calmer)
Back , checked in , went up to the room  and here we go:
The smell was terrible inside the room , the beds were never cleaned in like years , with hair , dirt and many other things , the shower was yucky , tiny , the room was dirty , the furniture was so old , the hotel was noisy  , I went back to the reception ( the nice guy) who assured me they know their business and they deep cleaned the room ...I asked him to join me ....the smell ( well yes he said , don't know but I should get used to it...) The hair, the dirt , the spots on the bedsheets and the pillows ..must have been from the drycleaners ( that was really hard to understand , am sure the bedsheets never been to a drycleaner ever in their lifecycle).
I told the reception that I can't and will not stay (  15 MTS after my early check-in) , he said he has to follow the TripAdvisor policy and charge me at least one night ( as if it was TripAdvisor's fault) , I was so happy to be fooled , so happy to be ripped off this time as I just wanted out of that place ...and I was charged 75 $ ( being the rate).
This so called "hotel" should be taken out of the TripAdvisor listing , they are a scam
, They shouldn't be listed on any site .

When I was in Beirut, I stayed in a suite. It was incredibly cozy and neat, and the design is quite eye-friendly. Very well kept and lots of great amenities. The food and staff were amazing. Their laundry service is great and got me to have fresh clothes throughout my trip. Highly recommended for those coming to Beirut!

As calming as the scent of Lavender

I WAS STAY  in this hotel 7 nights in March with my friend.before getting there I was thinking it is better but it is .
the breakfast was really exhausting and every day there were the same types.
but I really like the staff. one day we bought fresh fish from the market and ask the hotel to fry it and they done it very well. also we rent a car from the hotel,although it has some problem the price of renting car was good.
you can reach to rouche less than 25 minutes by walk.  
the last thing I should tell about this hotel is that they are caring about customers.on the last day we have some problems with reception at hotel but finally it was fixed and for making us happy 2 coffee was set for us and gave us great discount for taxi to the airport. any way Lebanon is the great destination for holiday.

Good location and nice staff

It is hard to understand how this is a four star hotel. It is truly a mystery.

I stayed in room 401 which resembled a grotty bedsit that you endured on your first year in university. Everything is old and tired. The curtains are dirty, The bathroom is the worst - tiny, old and with foul smelling drain. Two tiny beds. As a previous reviewer has stated, some rooms on lower floors seem to be refurnished (I had a sneaky look while they were being cleaned). I asked four times for a different room to no avail. Although breakfast was included in my rate, I chose not to use it after the first day. The airport 'transfer' is a car so old that you have to roll down the window to close the passenger door. 

With the exception of one older man working on reception who was competent and polite, the remaining staff are all men (in fact with the exception of the cleaning staff, everyone working in this hotel are men) in their twenties who don't seem to even understand that they are in the hospitality sector. The man who checked me in on the early morning of the 28th Dec was just rude. For no reason. It's hard to understand.

On the positives - the location is great and the room was cleaned everyday. Beirut is a fantastic city but this hotel really lets it down.

Very Disappointing

The hotel is centrally located. Staff is nice. We stayed twice in the same week and so we experienced different rooms. Some of us got nice and tidy ones some of us got really shabby and dirty ones. Mine had a kitchen fridge and a very old bathroom. Bed was ok. Breakfast ok. Don’t ask for a taxi at a concierge as they will call for a car (not an official one) who doesn’t know where to go and don’t use google maps. We’ve been going around for more than 1 hr while the itinerary said 10 mins....

Quite disappointing 

The hotel is in a detached but central position, far enough from the main road where the car rings and shouts, so everything is fine. The apartment - in our case on the third floor - is spacious and comfortable. Even breakfast, nothing to complain about. Water is a problem.
