Took my two kids to experience life in a fishing village and we werent disappointed..the homestay was v clean and i was impressed that the room even had a hairdryer..although food isnt serve at the homestay they do have snacks (maggie in the cup etc)  and drinks  for sale.i would suggest that you bring your own towels as their towels are quite thin.

the owners were v friendly and helpful..we spend our morning exploring the nearby boat, satay and anchovy factory on foot ( less than 10 min walk) and then rented fishing rods to fish at the homestay itself for the rest of the day..the kids also got to feed a family of hornbills that visit twice a day as well as the homestay's pet fishes..we rented a car for rm70 a day (at the jetty when we arrived) to drive out for seafood and to see the sunset at beach on the other side of the island.

It was very easy to communicate with the owner for the reservations and various arrangements prior to arrival. I was welcomed and shown around and my scooter was ready for me to discover the island. My room was basic but good enough. The outside area where guests can enjoy a drink looking at the life on the sea was pleasant. The guesthouse is located in the Chinese village and you can discover the laid-back life style of the Chinese community, the shipyard, the anchovies factory,...all at walking distance. I had a nice one night stay. Yet, I have been quite disappointed by the island itself having so little to offer. One night was enough.

Pleasant and easy

The staff at Pangkor Fish house are friendly and helpful.  We also get to feed some hornbills that flew to Pangkor Fish House in the morning around 7:30-8am.  What a pleasant surprise for us to have a close up view of the hornbill.  Each room has a private balcony space where u can do fishing at night if the tides are high.  There is a nice lounge area and a common kitchen at  the rear end of the corridor for us to use. Love everything here at this homestay.  

The only complaint I have is the room is pretty small n practically u don’t have luggage space.  Plus If they can add a mirror in the room will be nice. 

Pleasant Fishing Village Homestay

Pangkor Fish House is a unique guesthouse. It is a basic yet comfortable accommodation yet the picturesque views and the generous hospitality displayed by the owner is like the sweet icing on top of a great cake. We have chosen a great place for our 2D1N vacation. The kids have so much fun in the fishing activities. Reluctant to go home! We will definitely come back again for a longer stay and this time we would want to BBQ. The seafood here is absolutely fresh and sweet by just steaming!

Picturesque surrounding and great hospitality!

A super guesthouse on the eastern part of the island just next to the lumut boats docks I highly recommend this guesthouse even if everyone goes to the west coast I advise you to stay at this guesthouse for a few days entirely on pilots small room but nice and common corner pretty nice

That's great.

It was nice to wake up to be greeted with a beautiful sunrise. Then sitting at the balcony to enjoy your breakfast. Reading a book and enjoyong the boats coming in and out, napping on  the hammock, fishing and enjoying your fresh fish as a meal and not forgetting to snap beautiful pictures of the sunset. 

Renting a motorbike to move around is the best way to get to the beach and other places of interest. Friendly and helpful services from the staff as well.

A nice and memorable experience if you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Experience life in a fishing village

Very welcome. The team is adorable. With their help we have organized our stay and will keep a great memory of this holiday. The accommodation is in line with the description on the Internet: simple but with everything you need. The rooms are air-conditioned, with toilet, bathroom, wifi, large bed and balcony. It is very clean. The small shop and common areas are very convenient: you can prepare your meals, enjoy the terrace and hammocks. We rented a scooter to get around easily. And we appreciated the availability and kindness of Mr Tan who got up at dawn to drop us off at the first jetty.

Stay away from resorts and tourists

The Pangkor Fish House is a cheap establishment that offers open-air rooms on a pond in the middle of the fishermen. Absolutely nothing tourist in the mass sense of the term, here everything is authentic, the setting, the nearby fishing town very Chinese oriented, culture and food, we are out of place! But the comfort is the, good mattress, quiet air conditioning, private bathroom and toilet, WiFi (not fast), reading rooms, common kitchen, laundry, mini market if you forgot your toothbrush or your beer, and hammocks to relax at the end of the ponton! The beautiful life at the Fish House! Transfer to the Jetty (boats to) provided very early, and with the same smile! MR / 13€ rental for two days (60 hrs) Don't visit Lumonton to rent them, it is very convenient to relax at the end of the ponton!

Local, cheap, and everything to have a good night and even more!

The normal rooms stand in the sea, good idea isn't it?  But what about both sides of your room have same things, very close to the hotel is also the property of someone.  Don't expect to stand in front of your room with sea view, there'll be another one looking at you too.

A few nights

We were looking for a place to escape from the hustle & bustle of city. So, Pangkor Fish House turned out a very suitable place for our 3 days & 2 nights stay. My husband picked out this place and I’m a bit hesitant at first, thinking it might be smelly because it’s situated at fisherman village, Sungai Pinang Kecil. Apparently not! 

We love how welcoming Joyce at the sister branch, Pangkor Guesthouse SPK. Then Mr Tan, the owner, picked us to Pangkor Fish House at no charge! Shuttle service is another thumb up! Though the pick-up point is quite near, but it feels very welcoming. All the way to the Pangkor Fish House, Mr Tan showed us Boat Making Factory, Fish Satay Factories and a few Malay (Halal) places to eat. 

I booked through Agoda, easy & quick process during checking in & out. We stayed at the middle, room No 5. We rent a motorbike to move around the island at RM 25/day which is totally cheap. They also explained on the area that tourist cannot go because the road is very dangerous, slippery, no phone reception, etc. Everybody in the island when we asked about it will tell the same. Though we try to pass the road and agreed it’s dangerous. We don’t make it through. 

After reception, Alfred brought us to our room and did a bit of tour around the Pangkor Fish House. He showed us the mini market (they sell slippers, shavers, snacks, toothbrush, etc.), Dining place (with hammock, complete cooking tools and kitchen electrical appliances), Fishing Area, Fish Feeding Point. 

Then, it’s time for our free & easy trip. 

Oh ya! We love waking up in the morning with the sound of birds chirping and the sound of waves crashing on the beach. We missed it a lot.
