The hotel has just changed its name and is now called Vintage HpaAn. We arrived on January 29, they had finished laying the entrance wallpaper. We feel a rush period for staff. Large room, good bedding, coffee, tea at the reception. They can find you a tuktuk taxi to visit the area or arrange scooter rental, as well as a driver's car (no taxi car in HpaAn). Close to the night market and Mya Kan Thar, excellent restaurant.

The staff in this hotel is very friendly and welcoming and they go far and beyond to help you. We had a 3 persons room and it was quite clean, but in the hallway there were plates with half eaten food and heaps of dead flies everywhere, that was awful. 
Breakfast was all right but nothing speciale.

Very friendly staff but dirty

I do not know where to start were so many things ...
Upon arrival our driver called the staff to get our luggage and nobody came, we had to take it with us. The hotel does not have an elevator and you have to carry your luggage up stairs.
Upon arriving at the room everything broken old and dirty. Dirty towels, dirty sheets, remains of other customers' food under and behind the bed, remains of drink in the refrigerator, TV remote control without batteries, when they cleaned the room the next day ... they did not clean, they took the dirty towels but they did not put new ones clean and they do not replenish toilet paper. Full of bugs all over the room, dismantled, broken and dangerous plugs. Air conditioning with broken parts does not cool and makes noise and leaks water inside the room. Broken cupboard, old and without doors. Soiled soil, danger of falling.
Lamps without bulbs.
Dirty bathroom, dirty and old faucets, with leakage of water in shower and faucet of the toilet, and all the floor full of water. We warned that they will fix the water from the sink and just put towels on the floor to absorb the water.
Corridors and stairs full of dead bugs.
Very sparse breakfast only rice and nudles. We ordered eggs and he did not seem to like us to ask. Hard bread and only coffee with milk and orange juice.

Wifi: quite stable and with good speed.
Amenities: only water, no coffee maker or coffee or tea. Dirty fridge inside with remains of drink and food stuck.
It has rooms for smokers.
They need a lot to improve.
I do not recommend this hotel.

Dirty, dark, old and broken

We had Suite 307 towels very stained bathroom after the shower completely flooded, shower full of mold and dirt. (I couldn't shower here!) The sink is absolutely disgusting! Light in the bathroom and room only burns together. Air conditioning is very loud and uncomfortable, without earplugs you can't sleep here. Pillows are very thick and hard. A lamp on the ceiling is broken. The second air conditioner in the room is broken. Breakfast room is very unpleasant. Breakfast selection at the bottom level. Everything is unhealthy, dirty and decaying. Outside. Also, no crab animals in the bathroom.

It's a disaster!

In the first room (first floor) the rats stole our used toilet paper and dragged the trash bin down the huge hole in the wall. The second room had bad WiFi and no tv channels, not that it matters in such a wonderful country but it still was something we paid for. They also forgot to clean the room. The staff was polite. 

Rats and dirt

The hotel is good  with great customer service. We got a room very spacious and comfortable. I didn’t like the shower as it had water all over the toilet from the shower at first time we got there... I felt it was disgusting and looks like no one cleaned. Also Wi-Fi wasn’t work the time we got there. The breakfast is okay. The location is good and there is a reliable  Bus ticket service. 

Very bad toilet 

I am still confused that this is actually a hotel. Well usually I am not that arguing around, but this ,,hotel" was really a mess. The shower was leaking so somehow the whole bathroom was under water and it smelled so disgusting. Also we had no wifi at all, what is quit usual for Myanmar but here the woman at the reception told us that it is working but really slow. In fact there was no wifi. The only good point I could give was the breakfast. That's it, definitely not to recommend.

Horrible hotel

Very cold reception from the manager who disputed the reservation.... correct room but bathroom with moist and dirty joints. Leaks of water so we stained... stained toilet linens, glass shelves full of aureole... We ask for another room and it's exactly the same! When talking to other customers they tell us the same thing. Wifi doesn't work at all in the room. Mock-up of the restaurant room that hasn't seen a vacuum cleaner in a long time The only positive point is the kindness of the young people who are smiling and helpful. The worst hotel we have had in Burma.

What to Avoid

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel, the staff are very friendly despite their very low command of English which sometimes makes a request impossible: only the manager the language and she is given that she manages very well when she is present, which is not always the case. The room itself was spacious, no doubt about the cleanliness of the bunkhouse. We have some comments about the bathroom, the bed room is very friendly: it is very convenient to visit the city centre. So we can talk to the small company at the lake. It is not a high hotel, but it is not always the case.

Correct

We stayed two nights in this hotel, very welcoming and helpful staff. Clean and very large room. It is the hotel that made us want to stay one more night in Hpa an. Restaurant in renovation but small hotel next door in another very nice and cozy hotel. The wifi runs in the lobby only a little bemool if not very well
