Positive: the location is very sandy, next to the Santa Justa elevator, on the footpath Rua do Carmo, near the BAIXA CHIADO metro, about 5 minutes walk. Clean linen. Negative notes: The absence of an elevator! Really heavy stairs, with and without luggage! We were on the 4th floor. Our room (marriage room with shared bathroom), was MUCH damp with relative mold smell.

Great location, the rest improving.

We spent 4 nights at the 5 Sins Chiado Hostel and had a great stay. You can reach all the important sights on foot and the next tram station is also not far away. There are many great restaurants and shopping opportunities nearby, which we liked greatly! Those who prefer to have their peace of mind are not well taken care of here, however, because you always hear noises in the middle of the city - it didn't bother us at all. The breakfast was unfortunately not so good, but thanks to the many cafes in the area and the reasonable price, this was also perfectly fine. We would come back:)

Central accommodation in the heart of Lisbon

It's a nice hotel in the old part of Porto, so during the day it's a bit noisy, but as we're tourists, we use it to sleep exclusively and we don't care.

Well situated.

Very helpful staff, comfortable bed and shower room.
When i arrived first day, I got a hitted by guesthouse owner - City Guesthouse Alfama.  5 Sins Chiado Hostel's staff very kind to me and told me what i could do. And then I went to the police station and asked for help. The hostel's guy who working there waited me until I came back. I was so grateful.

Excellent hostel

We really enjoyed our stay in this establishment. The premises are faithful to the photos of the site or Booking, clean and very nicely decorated. Small and cozy. Pleasant atmosphere in this luxurious youth hostel where you can choose a private room and only share the toilets. They are also clean and functional. The proximity to the shopping street makes the place a little noisy but it is inevitable in the city centre. Ideal location when you can stay for a while. No time is wasted on transport.

Three good quality ratio price

This hostel could not be much better compared to what you pay to stay here. The hostel has a cozy atmosphere, lovely staff and is located right in the heart of Lisbon! A extra plus staying at this hostel is the nice homemade breakfast!

Amazing hostel located perfectly in Lisbon

The Sin 5 hostel is an extremely well located youth hostel which is probably worth its attendance rate.. it is certainly the only positive point of this place. The rooms are sparse. About 9m2 for 9. It is a disaster. The staff is noisy in the evening. The toilets are clean but in poor condition. Breakfast is good but served a little later from 8.30am

For one night

I love Lisbon, but definitely did not love this place. We stayed in a private room with private bathroom, small room, old with FOUL smell coming from the shower which seeped into the room! Had to keep windows open. 
I've stayed in many hostels, and this one unfortunately didn't cut it. 
It is conveniently located, next to the elevator and shops, transport etc and they have luggage storage, but wouldn't recommended it unless you had no other option. Poor customer service from young lady working during the day. When advised that internet wasn't working, "wait a little, it should work again soon"....6hrs later I let the young man who was working in the evening know and he was great, the modem needed to be reset on our level, it wasn't on.
When advised of the bad smell in the room, they didn't even say anything or didn't know what to say? Weird. 
Upon checking out, was asked about our stay and i mentioned the bad smell again, and the lady shrugged her shoulders although it was just normal, disappointing. 
No AC only ceiling fan. 5 levels, so you might have to climb stairs (expected for Europe). They have a number of volunteers who stay for free i assume to help out around the place, clean bathrooms, kitchen etc breakfast was basic, but ok. Common bathrooms were filthy, and looking into the shared rooms from outside they looked very cramped. 
Unfortunately wouldn't stay again. 

Conveniently located... but that's about it! 

Exceptional location!! Everything is done on foot the metro is 2 min, the rossio station (to go to sintra) is 3 min, street in front of the shopping inn, lots of shops in the neighborhood, the advantage is that the day is lively and the evening is quiet(noisy). We had an absolutely beautiful view of the cathedral. The neighborhood of bars is 5/6 min on foot. Tram 28, is also nearby short location top. Very nice house, nice little nice dej without more and a little late (early 8:30 pm), clean room, suitable bathroom. We recommend!

Our room was very nice, well maintained and functional! The team is smiling and pleasant, the bathrooms very clean:) Only bemool: there is a little noise and the common room for breakfast is quite small (maybe we didn't have luck).
