I've been to the city of Orel a couple of times. I've stayed overnight at this hotel twice. Before I went, I've seen the hotel on the Internet. It was a pretty good place to stay overnight. But... I was very disappointed afterwards. It was the Soviet Union's time. Everything was there from that era. The floors were like old good old shelves. They were laid out with planks. And wherever I went, there was a typical script. Now the room itself. Very small, in the room, the bed, the TV, the chair, the cabinet (if you're lucky), the room is a hallway.

Passing to the city of Orel with a stop at the Hotel Orel

I visited Orel for tourist purposes and spent one night in the hotel and made no mistake. The hotel's convenient location allowed me to take one evening and one morning walk around the city and see almost all its attractions. I was greeted and placed in a virtually empty hotel, probably not yet filled with guests because of the coronavirus. The rich halls, the comfortable one-room room contributed to a good mood. The old model TV and Spartan breakfast did not spoil it.

Hotel Orel is a good choice for getting to know the city

This hotel has a plus only in the location, there's nothing better there. Although for lovers of Soviet ampire, Obkomov's daches it's the same. Absolutely coated towel serves, I decided that they haven't changed since the last guests and didn't risk wiping them out. A set of gel for shower and shampoo, in the bags is not the first entrance. All the time I was sick, I was suffering from an allergic cough, most likely to dust from carpets and gray (somewhat white) curtains.

Unless there's nothing else.

It's a monument to the Soviet hotel service, all very monumental: both architecture and interiors with a slate, a screw parquet, carpets and paintings... light, color, scents, sounds...

The façade and interior of the hotel are preserved in the classic Soviet Obkomov style. In contrast to this, the rooms are very modern and equipped with modern equipment. Small technical problems were quickly resolved by the staff.

Living in the Obcomov style

I stopped for one night on 26.03.19 in room 319. At the reception they met me as if I had come to ask for a charity. Two meagers answered the questions arrogantly and to be. The floors all over the hotel are screaming, it's scary to walk on them, in the room it's even worse. I open the room and it smells like mold!!! even disposable slippers! No toothbrushes and pastes either. In the middle of the room on the carpet there's a stain of 20cm by 15cm.

It's awful!

We stayed at the hotel for one night. Convenient location in the city center. Spacious renovated rooms. Hall interior in the best Soviet traditions. In the bar of the restaurant they make a very decent coffee. The only drawback is the lack of a fan in the room, which is important for women. In the rooms there is analogue television, so the picture is not very clear.

I didn't stay at this hotel for a long time. And when I went into the room, I immediately realized - why? It's cold! I immediately remembered the early 2000s, when the main criterion for choosing a hotel was the availability of hot water and good heating. Water is now available around the clock, and here it is warm. - The old Soviet building at Tankist Square, almost the city center - convenient in any direction. Good breakfast a-la map. A set of amenities is minimal, but does it take a lot of work? But: still a television with a kinescope, the quality of programs is disgusting, the control from the bed doesn't reach, the whole corridor is listening from the room, the blinds don't cover the streets - all the way around... Well, you know, the staff wanted to know that there are three stars for the light.

He's a good guy.

The interior interior, the chandeliers, the parquet floors in the halls, which are periodically scratched, are preserved. The rooms are quite spacious, inside are modern furniture. The sanitation, although not the newest, but works well, there are no complaints about this. The television in the room is quite small, shows the main Russian channels and the local Orlovsky, but the quality of the image leaves you want the best.
