The room we were staying at was nice and big enough, confortable bed, friendly owners... Great cosy and friendly place to stay, a walk away from the city center... We will be coming back next time when in Novi Sad! 

Very nice

Did choose this place because it was relative close to the train station. The rooms are nice, the shared bathrooms as well.So its really good place to explore Novi Sad. Only the WiFi is a problem, i couldnt connet for real except i was sitting the the kitchen

Bad WiFi

As previous reviewers have noted, this is a pleasantly quiet and family-run hostel located a reasonable walk from the centre of Novi Sad. It consists of an old house where the family live, and a newer building that makes up most of the hostel just across the garden. A communal kitchen and shared bathroom are the only elements of a hostel that we saw though, as the rooms all seemed to be private ones.

My partner and I stayed here on a work trip to Serbia as it was recommended by our contact in Novi Sad. It was rather quiet during our stay, and we saw no evidence of other guests, but that did not put us off; the quiet was good for a rest after we got back as we needed to be up early the next day.

There were a lot of flies in the reception area, some of which got into our bedroom overnight. On top of this, the shower was at first stuck on the tap and impossible to switch to the shower setting; this was fixed by the morning though. The only major problem was the lack of curtains on our ground floor room, which felt slightly odd and that lets my review down somewhat.

Otherwise, it is a friendly, comfortable, and quiet place to stay, and it comes highly recommended by all the major hostel booking websites - as they display their numerous award certificates proudly in the kitchen.

Quiet and friendly

We stayed here with the 8 of us for 5 nights. It's a very clean and nice place. There is a big table outside and also a kitchen with a big table inside. The woman who runs the place is very nice and baked cake for us several times. 
It's about 10/15 minutes walking to the central plaza.

If you need a peaceful, clean and friendly place to stay in Novi Sad, hostel Podbara is the right place for you with the most friendliest prices. Cozy, comfortable and clean rooms, well equipped kitchen and the most friendly owners Ivana and her family. We visited this place for the first time seven years ago, and since then we got there almost every year. Thank you dear Ivana for your hospitality. :-)

The best hostel in town

Cozy hostel. Fresh repair. Large kitchen, where you can get together with the whole company. 2 computers in the hall. To the bus and railway station 20 minutes on foot. To the city center 15 minutes on foot. Near the supermarket. To the Ptrovardina fortress is convenient to walk along the waterfront and across the bridge. Convenient location.
