We stayed for 3 nights in September and found the Casa Horno del Oro to be delightful. It is very convenient for nearby restaurants and the Alhambra and is in the very pretty old town of Granada. The hotel itself is stunning and has magnificent views of Alhambra. We had the ground floor room which is small but beautiful and fine for a few nights. We felt very comfortable there and had a chilled and enjoyable long weekend. The owners were welcoming, especially Victor and if we are ever in the area again we would not hesitate to stay there.

Lovely

Super comfortable and clean apartments, located at the foot of the Alhambra! very attentive and resolute staff, even giving you a map and explaining how to get to the sights.

Super clean and inexpensive location.

Moreover, the accommodation does not offer drinks or snacks to enjoy the views on the terrace, nor in the rooms, nor in the minibar, nor a simple bottle of water. It seems deliberate that nothing is offered and that the terrace is not cleaned to prevent guests from spending time on the terrace. At least we liked that breakfast was served at a table for 6 people, so you have to share with 2 other couples. The breakfast table is just for 6, so we literally serve 150 teas high for each other. This lack of privacy allows us to enjoy the best quality of our accommodation.

Location alone does not make up for the poor quality of accommodation.

We stayed 3 nights (for 2 nights we were the only guests in the house. Upon arrival we were greeted by a lady and her rather scurvy daughter (everything to do) who informed us of breakfast time: 9.30 (for us very late). He told us that if we wanted, we could have a coffee and have something from the fridge. The next morning we waited.

It's a beautiful building, poor service.

I was taken to this place by surprise and was pleasantly surprised, it is a genuine carmen del Albaicin, very well remodeled that retains all the charm of an Arab house. The views to the Alhambra are spectacular. The owner welcomed us the day we arrived and was extraordinarily kind, I explain the history of the house and its remodeling. I have read reviews from people who feel neglected, but I believe that in reality the privacy they offer you is unique. The breakfasts are very good and very well served by the girl who prepares them.

Beautiful place and magnificent treatment.

From the noisy and crowded road along the river Darro to the side alley and voila - you are at the old Moorish house filled with artifacts. This property is all about location and ambiance. We had upper room with amazing roof top terrace and  magnificent view of Alhambra. From here you are at the walking distance to everything in Granada. Breakfast is OK, bed could be a little bit more comfortable, longer at least, but still OK. But note that to fall asleep and wake up in the morning with this incredible view is priceless.

Negative points:No sign that tells us we are in the right place, don't hesitate to ring... Room, the one with the piano, which would be worth a little bit of money, sdb with bathtub (hand shower not convenient), bed 1.40m.... We were the only customers, we crossed the owners (at last, we think) but they didn't have a word for us, no exchange, hello.....sorry for a B&B or guest house.....

All right, here's the location.

The house is more like a riad in Morocco - stuffed to the gills with artefacts and beautiful objects.  The roof terrace at night is magical, with a wonderful view of the Alhambra lit up against the night sky.  Our room had its own little patio, but it did mean that we didn't get much sunlight in the room itself.  we also had a piano in the room!  It was more like staying in a friend's house than a hotel.  Bit spooky at times as the housekeeper leaves in the afternoon and there is no-one living there.  Great place.  Only disappointment was the fact that there were only two bags of black tea for our 4 night stay and, rather than get more in, I was expected to drink red or green tea.  My only complaint.

Beautiful house and lovely location

Happy we choose to stay here. Good sized comfortable room.  Lovely views of Alhambra from the roof terrace.  Interesting neighborhood.  Easy walk to the bus stop for the red local buses that go everywhere you would want to go. Happy we choose to stay here

Pleasant stay

Apartment very well located in the heart of the Albacyn, the only small hic access, but it is for the whole of Grenada. The agency that manages this housing park (Granada Inside) is at the top, they stand in four to help you.
