Fantastic location for all the main sights - just off the Puerta del Sol (with both its metro & Cercanias stations, giving easy links to the airport) and a few minutes walk to the Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace; 15-minute walk to the main museums.  Lots of bars and restaurants nearby as well as the Gran Via.  It seems the hotel is undergoing (and has largely undergone) a refurbishment programme, giving it a fresh, modern twist.  Rooms are fairly small but well-equipped and very clean; the beds are very comfortable and the linen good.  The staff are really professional and helpful.  There is a little bit of noise coming up from the street - and of course, the Spanish stay out very late so that can be a problem for the European traveller exhausted after a day's sight seeing and needing sleep!  The walls are a little thin too - might be worth asking specifically for a quiet room if you are likely to be affected by noise.  Otherwise highly recommended for a mid-range hotel offering excellent value, and would return if ever in Madrid again.

Perfect location in a boutique-style hotel

A well-located hotel, on Calle Arenal, which is pedestrianised and within a few minutes walking distance you can reach the Palacio Real y Opera on one side and on the other the Plaza del Sol, Callao y Gran Via. Plaza Mayor is also nearby. Two metro stations, Opera y Sol are just a few minutes away. El Hotel is 2 stars. Very safe, clean, good breakfast, friendly attention and excellent views of Calle Arenal. Secure me again. Ideal for groups, families, businesses, etc.

Its location is the best in the centre of Madrid.

Around the corner is the Opera House, a block from the Puerta del Sol - all within walking distance or by metro, including the airport and the two train stations of Chamartín and Atocha.

Ideal starting point for a city stay in Madrid

The decoration of each floor is different, very modern. The spacious room can accommodate suitcases perfectly and the very modern bathroom with tasteful details. The very friendly, attentive staff helped us with everything we needed. A block away the Museo del Jamón that eats y tomas cerveza for very low cost.

A very good hotel recommended at 100% a very good service and excellent customer service very good cleaning in short a very impeccable hotel very centrally located in the heart of the capital and with all the train and metro services at hand.

Very good hotel.

Nice rooms, very accomodating staff and good breakfast. A little bit noisy because of the thin walls, like in many other hotels. They let me leave my bags until the afternoon after checking out, which was highly appreciated.

Stylish and well located

We stay from the 12th to the 14th/2, and from the 1st to the 3rd of March on a trip around Europe starting and returning from Madrid. It is a very nice hotel located in the center, close to 3 metro stations. Everything is close, you can reach the main attractions on foot. The rooms are simple but very spacious and clean. The breakfast is excellent. The care of the staff is perfect. Highly recommended.

A very good surprise.

I'm staying from today's 20th to the 23rd and it looks like a very good hotel. I was looking for a hotel in the center and it looks great to me. Felicidades.personal very good, excellent location. The whole center is very close. Finally. Perfect.

These are hotels.

The staff were always friendly and helpful, even though we arrived late at night and we speak hardly any Spanish! The quirky décor was entertaining and stylish. Their attention to detail was superb, (so many hotels where you stay three to a room can't get the number of beds right, let alone the towels!) The room was clean, the shower powerful and the beds comfortable (necessary after a day pounding the tourist trail). Even our endless requests for hot water for tea were not too much trouble! Our only slight problem with the room was how much noise came through from the room next door. The location is absolutely fantastic for a first visit to Madrid: 2 minutes walk to Puerta del Sol, 2mins walk to Plaza Mayor, 5 mins walk to the Royal Palace, and just around the corner from the famous San Gines Chocolate Café, so you can keep coming back to the hotel recharge your batteries!
