A visit to the oil mill is informative  but you need to appreciate it is mechanised and produces the oil in large volumes. In October nothing much goes on but you can still see the ancient presses and vats.  There is the usual shop but we did not like the oil offered.  There are other items to buy at a reasonable price and also some old photographs around.  This is not worth a special visit unless part of a tour.

Interesting but olive oil ordinary

This was a fun place to tour. The drive up the mountain was beautiful to this historic traditional olive oil mill. Our guide explained the history and process and hosted an olive oil, bread, and wine tasting. 

Traditional Olive Oil Mill

A fascinating visit to a small family run olive oil factory. It is generations old but still producing delicious oil. One of the proprietors, Juan , gave us an informative tour of the production area, which is one of the last manually run  works. We then retired to the cosy lounge shop to watch a short and interesting video of how the oil is made with some of the family history included. The family has owned the business and olive grove for generations. This was followed by a generous and delicious olive oil tasting, with cheese and fresh bread. 
Well worth a detour to find near Zahara el Sierra.

A step back into the history of olive oil

After visiting the mill during a trip, I wanted to order bottles of olive oil for home delivery in France. After several emails, they gave me their IBAN for transfer (I didn't hesitate because I had been there before, and discovered it via a reliable tour operator). I made the transfer and since then no news!! No response to calls on the numbers indicated on the site, and on the whole I never received the oil.

It's a scam!

We visited this establishment a few times and fell in love with the olive oil. It is spectacular. While the UK was in the EU we ordered it to be shipped to the UK in 20litre  units (4 × 5litres) and while the shipments were slow and communication not brilliant, the goods did arrive. Our last attempt to buy another 20litres failed. We did pay 200 Euros as instructed and the shipment was attempted by the company at least once, possibly twice. We ordered in April 22 and after a few months we gave up and asked for our money back. The money never arrived even after repeated messages and phone calls and promises. So, feel free to visit and purchase the oil but NEVER EVER order remotely and expect it to arrive if outside the EU. As good customers of a number of years we feel like this company has stolen 200 Euros from us and has stopped communicating with us. We were always polite and very patient but time is up for this outfit. Beware.

Great oil, awful service

We visited this company on a tour and they offered to send us 20 liters to France, so we paid and we never got our order. No reply to our emails and no people to be reached on the phone! Be careful! Camus Florence and Olivier

Arnak to the Tourists

We booked through booking, two adults and two children aged eleven and sixteen, and after eight days of booking we received a message where we were informed of an increase in accommodation of more than 40€ per night.The owner tells us that the increase is due to the fact that children over two years of age consider themselves adults.We understand that if after eight days of management we are informed of this incident, the company must assume that error.When we issued the complaint the owner's reply was Everyone does with his business what he wants, without any apology and closing the matter.The experience with accommodation has been disastrous.

It's not easy to manage.

I'm here right now. There's no barbecue. The oven has a lock. The TV doesn't work. There's no WiFi. The hot water lasts for the first two showers. The furniture looks like garbage cans. There's no attention. In short, a hair dressing. Be careful.

What a hearty tomato.

A real pleasure this small group visit, from a company in its 11th generation; authenticity, generosity, quality and incomparable flavours of the tastings 😍😋 I would have bought the whole shop! All this for a family atmosphere, relaxed and warm: I recommend 👌😆

It's a very pleasant time, out of time.

An old oil mill with three rental houses. we were in the largest fully equipped and with stunning views of the zahara swamp of the sierra. the walk to the village is worth it. juan was super friendly and helped with everything we needed. super recommended location.
