A fantastic location and an even more fantastic was the crazy interior design. The food was very good. But the best was the staff, Very attentive and adding that luxury feeling to our stay, such as a bubble when we arrived and a nice present when we went to bed. And dogs are allowed everywhere.  What else can you wish for?

It`s a must

We had huge expectations based on previous experience with Titti Qvarnstrom’s food. The food was great but unfortunately the service did not match the food experience. We had to ask for the food and wine to be presented at each serving. The description promised a “food journey” through the castle. This included pre-dinner drinks and snacks in the lounge and then the rest of the meal in the dining room. Quite disappointing! The promised  boards games in the bar were non-existing and the wine selection in the bar area was poor. Hopefully this has improved with time. This is a great location and the castle is very quaint, decorated in a great way and has a fantastic ambiance.

Pros: really friendly staff, really beautiful place. Creative and different decor, doesn’t look like anywhere else. We loved it. Beautiful setting by lake, good for nature walks. 
Cons: We had a five course menu with wine pairing. The food was ok, but really nothing special and some of it too strange (sweet macarons with savoury filling!). The wine pairing not to our liking. First two (champagne and white) were both very oaky Chardonnays - too similar, then a port wine (!), then an ok red wine but it was warm… 

The rating is for the place, the setting and the service/ staff. Not food or wine.

Nice place and staff, weird food and wine

Stayed there for a conference. The castle could have been in a better shape, the meeting room was ok. The food was fine, but a noisy dining room. Had a very large room and the bed was soft, I slept very well, which is why I will give Häckeberga a rate of four instead of three. The breakfast was rather simple, but ok

Nice stay

We spent a weekend at Häckeberga castle and played golf, had a four course meal and breakfast. It’s a nice place, the staff are helpful and the food and drinks were really good. The surroundings are lovely.

Alas, the place is a bit run down (our room however was really nice), and most parts of the castle need some tender loving care i.e. lounge not cosy, dead flowers in pots...the interior has been violated by someone who seems not to have a clue of interior culture preservation.

Anyway, we had a nice time and thank you to the staff.

Nice but no more

Spent a day and a half in a team meeting at Häckeberga. Stunning environment! Attentive staff made our conference flow without any disturbance. Food was enjoyable, generous portions and largely made out of local produce. Indeed the place could benefit from a little bit of refurbishment but overall the experience was great largely driven by the priceless setting.

Beautiful environment!

Nice room. Comfy beds. Loved the bathroom.  Awesome staff :) Dinner was delicious. Breakfast was not that great.  We didn't venture too far away from the castle itself as it was rainy. All in all a well worth and relaxing stay.

Stay in Castle

Very nice hotel in a great location. The rooms are partly rich with old kitchen utensils. The common room with a selection of spirits invites you to stay by the fireplace. The kitchen (4 courses menu with suitable wines) was excellent. It was affordable but with good price performance. The surroundings are very quiet and invites you to take a walk. We can recommend it further.

Very nice hotel with excellent cuisine

Came here to relax and to spend a night at a something different than the ordinary hotel and were not disappointed. We'd bought a package so 3-course dinner was included in our price. The price for the room is rather expensive, but not surprisingly, since you pay to stay at a castle with nice grounds. We decided to walk through the woods round the castle, and managed to get a little bit lost, as there are no signs, but just more or less trodden paths. 

I loved the bathroom and the dinner was good. Breakfast was good, but not extraordinary.

As there's nothing much else to do at the castle (no swimming pool, spa or gym), 1 night is enough. To attract guests for longer stay, I think the hotel would need to invest in more things to do.

+ On our arrival there were coffee/tea & cakes, which we took on the terrace overlooking the lake. This was a lovely start to our relaxing and quiet castle stay
+ Location is nice - quiet and by a lake. There are small rowing boats free of charge, so you can row on the lake.
- Cleaning in room was not 100%. Thought the windowsills needed a bit of dusting....

Stay in a castle

Nice rooms and good food! A very good wine list and nice staff. But plan your stay. We arrived early and there was absolutely nothing to do! You can't swim in the water, no sauna, no biljard- or pool table, no dart - nothing! The next day we went for the recommended walk, but since the walk was not marked, we ended up with the cows:) When we found the right way, it was a beautiful walk through the woods.
