made a booking for my inlaws last years and tried to book in and it was not even open.  The outside looks terrible. disappointed. toys lying everywhere and one i attendance even when we went to check the booking and no answer on the phone when we tried to confirm the booking

it is not often open

The room was spacious and tidy. The breakfast was great. Toilets and shower rooms were very old, but they were clean. In my opinion there should be more showers for so many rooms. 

The funny thing is that Vimmerby B&B is more expensive per night than Steel House Copenhagen City (luxury hostel/hotel)!!

The staff was making the effort

Clean good sized rooms, basic bathroom and shower. No tv in room but most families have ipads. 10 minutes walk to the theme park. V friendly staff. Can't fault it! On the negative you can hear speed racers at night revving on the street/motorway. And parents are not considerate enough to shush their children or tell them not to go screaming down corridors late night/early mornings. Hence 4 stars.

Relaxed no hassle base 

Expensive, as everything else is in Vimmerby. All because of Astrid Lindgrens world. We stayed for one night, in room 20, which had a bathroom with toilet, sink and a shower. Not many rooms have that. So that was very nice, having our two small children with us. Room was clean, with bed linnens and towels. It is very noisy, so bring ear plugs! Our door slammed every time another door opened and shut. And with all the families staying there, there is a lot of noise from children both night and early morning. 
Breakfast is included, and contained slices bread and baguette, cheese, ham, jams and sausage. Some fruits and cucumber and tomatoes. There was also yoghurt, juices, coffe and tea. And some very hard boiled eggs. Musli, oatmeal, corn flakes and milk was also a choice. Nothing fancy, but something to start the day with. Check in is at 4 pm and check out at 11 am. 
The pictures you see at their website is realistic, so you get what you see.

If stadshotel was awailable, we woukd have paid those extra money and stayed there. There is a great playground just outside on the "marked" square. And it is close to shops, restaurants and cafes.
