We stayed here for 2 nights. There are small houses facing the courtyard. Two-story. downstairs kitchen, dining room, bathroom and room with cabinets. Over a very special staircase you get up one floor. There is another 2 beds in the attic - not with a door, but with a staircase for small children. The houses have gotten a little old. Damaged doesn't seem to be repaired - so it seems when you walk through the house. With us, the bathroom was sprayed and the toilet wasn't cleaned. This was reported to the reception but it's still empty. But it's not generally clean. Especially to mention Astrid's location near Lindistan. Astrid's location is very wet.

Near the world of Astrid Lindgren

Idyllish little hotel with individual houses. Well located in the small village of Vimmerby. In walking distance there is a museum with the parent house of Astrid Lindgren. In addition there is a theme park of Pipi Langstrumpf nearby. Hotel is ideal for families. Breakfast is brought daily in front of houses. In the evening there is a buffet. Although somewhat older, very Swedish and domestic. Recommended!

Idyllish Swedish hotel with individual houses

Just a few minutes walk from Astrid Lindgren’s World this place has a perfect location. We stayed in a nice, spacious cottage with kitchen, a/c and 5 beds. Shopping nearby, so you don’t have to go for the optional breakfast although it is convenient and nice. Bring linens or pay for it, we did the latter.

Perfect location for Astrid Lindgren’s World

Nice and cosy place, ok accommodation. You have what you need, beds could been abit better. But overall a nice stay, good place to stay and a 15 min walk from Astrids lindgrens world. 
You can rent sheets, people to wash and clean when you leave and breafast if needed.


Oxgården 

We were there with our two children and we really liked it. All the houses are around an inner courtyard where you can meet. The room was two stories and had a cabin bed downstairs and three individual beds upstairs. It had its own kitchen and air conditioning. Breakfast was put in a basket in front of the door. I thought this was a good idea. It's about ten minutes' walk from Astrid Lindgren's world. It's simple setup and maybe not all new, but we liked it very well.

Family atmosphere

Nice place to stay max 2 night with max 4 people per cottage. The kids have enough space outside and very near the Astrid Lindgren park an näs. Both 5min walks. 

For disabled people they have special cottages. Don’t expect anything. 
- Not accessible with a wheelchair because of the thick layer of gravel in front of the cottage. 
- The huge threshold at the door of the cottage and reception makes it almost impossible to enter the cottage and reception/restaurant. 
- The extra needed space for moving around with a wheelchair cannot be found in the cottage. It is incredible small. You hit the walls, doors and furniture all the time. 
- No facilities in the shower and no room for the wheelchair to get into the shower. It is tiny. 

Only a crappy adaptation to a toilet doesn’t make it disabled friendly. 

The personnel is very friendly and tried to help. They receive the 2 stars. 

Poor for disabled people

Great place to stay when visiting Astrid Lindgrens värld. Takes about max 15 minutes to walk with your kids to the park, so saving in on parking fee. 
We were two adults, two children and a baby, works great. The children slept on the loft (possibility to close the stairs with a safety gate so they dont wonder in their sleep).
Since the cottages are located around a yard it feels very safe and kids can play outside while you cook or do other things inside. Simple restaurant with kid friendly options. Cute atmosphere. You can bring a bottle of wine from home and sit outside in the yard with your partner after your kids have fallen a sleep. :) 
Stayed here twice and really liked it. We didn't really like the breakfast basket the first time though (so sweet!) so we skipped it second time. 
It is easily cleaned by yourself in max 45 minutes.

Relaxing in the evenings after visit in ALV park

I was hoping for a bigger house, although we had enough of space. We were four people, renting a house that could hold eight. The is why I expected it to be bigger but in reality, you rent a roof over your head. We ordered breakfast and it was delivered to you door, that was nice. The only thing included was toilet paper, everything else you had to bring on your own. The location near Astrid Lindgrens Värld made us choose it and the location fot that purpoe is a 5/5.

It is a roof over your head

Family hotel designed for small budgets. Pic nic allowed and frequent movement of tables and chairs!!! What a disconcerting thing!!! Because they come and go in the inner courtyard. Bar and restaurant closed at 8:00 pm!!! Children play safely but the noise is stupid! Some families only go to bed around 10:00 pm. Not resting at all unless the family is large... Habit requires.

A vacation with a child!

When we got here, we had to make the beds, there's no bathroom laundry, the wifi is inaccessible from our bungalow, it's more like a holiday camp than a hotel, and our restaurant order was forgotten... more than an hour of waiting.
