Excellent stay at the Golf Tavern.  Staff couldn't be nicer nor more efficient.  Extremely friendly with good old fashioned manners and service.  Would highly recommend.  Also had an excellent meal and fabulous, enormous breakfast, excellent value.  Its an old 'lady' with character and excellent value for money, will stay again

Well worth a visit!

Stayed 2 nights. Would rate this as 3 star only. Had twin room no.3 - it was small and the en-suite & shower were very small. Old carpet - needs changing. Think the TV would have been 21 inch tucked away high in one corner and only partially visible from one bed. 
Problems we had - our room had not been serviced or cleaned after the first night when we returned to the hotel ! Got some clean towels on request. Also the only window to outside was a skylight panel in the ceiling fitted with an electric remotely operated blind which was faulty and did not close all the way. Since we like to sleep in blackout conditions this was not good waking up too early in a daylight flooded room.
It seems that neither of these problems had been reported to the manager when we subsequently spoke with him so nothing may change for the next guest.
Food - Had the steak burger in the evening - burger quality OK but chips were oven chips and asking an extra £2.25 for cheese and bacon is a rip-off. Having that would bring the price of the dish to £16.20 - really - for a burger & chips !!! A positive - the full Scottish breakfast was very good (except for the leathery bacon).
In conclusion - just a 3 star property not worth the £100 per night we paid.

Just a 3 star hotel with some problems

Just had the pleasure of a stay at this great little place. 
Called up early on a Saturday morning asking for a room. Having driven through the night for work. I asked if I could get into my room as early as possible. 
Arrived at the hotel. The first question I was asked,”are you hungry?” 
I was so I was offered breakfast straight away. My room was ready straight away. So I was checked in and had had my breakfast before the advertised check in time. A welcome bonus for me. Breakfast I could not fault. And the staff were fantastic also. I also had my evening meal at the hotel which was perfect. 
So glad I selected this place rather than a faceless major chain hotel where I would not be allowed to check in early. 
Could not fault this hotel.  
Service, hospitality and flexibility top notch. Many thanks. Will be booking again should work ever take me this way again.

Arriving after 2pm we were welcomed by very kind and helpful staff.  Food was amazing, Starters and Main Courses in the restaurant and Dessert “to go”.  Will definitely return and highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic Staff and Food

We stayed for one night after playing golf at Gullane.  All the staff were very welcoming and helpful.  Evening meal was tasty and accompanied by drinks from a good choice at the bar. 
Rooms were pleasantly furnished and comfortable.  Our room was next to the front door so, regrettably, we could smell some cigarette smoke.  Also, the only window was a velux very high up in the ceiling.  If you prefer a more traditional window then ask for a different room.  Overall, this place was clean and homely.  A little more attention to detail re a little dust under the radiator and sealant  in the shower room would give the bedroom and 'excellent' rating. Breakfast was magnificent; beautifully cooked and presented. However, if your appetite is not huge then consider asking for half a portion of the cooked plate or you will receive 'two of everything'.  This is a pub with a pub restaurant and B&B rooms.  It did 'what it says on the tin' and any slight quality issues were more than compensated by the very friendly, helpful and cheerful staff. We would definitely consider staying here again, especially as much of the other accommodation in the area is relatively more costly.

Good value B & B. Great for golfers

Very nice, small hotel. The room wasn't very big but clean and tidy. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is great. The WiFi is available but unfortunately quite slow. There is a restaurant and a pub, the food there was great and affordable. There were parking spaces for motorcycles in the backyard. I'd love to go back.

Just spent two nights, great room, not huge, lovely shower room.  Quiet and very clean.  Staff are fab and so are the locals what a great mix of customers (don't be put off by the odd bad word).  They came across as real pub locals who would do anything for each other.  A small but very well ran, friendly clean hotel.  Plenty of nearby parking, beautiful walks nearby and a lovely part of the country.  We ate one night, the food was great but portions too big for us.  Breakfasts were freshly cooked and very good too.



What a great friendly place 

Stayed here for 3 nights. Very clean, tidy & well appointed. Good channels on tv, nice toiletries in the bathroom & a good sized room with comfortable bed. The best thing though - were the staff. Very friendly & accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. 

Free parking & a short, 5 minute walk to the town centre.

I'd definitely stay here again when I'm in Haddington.

Great hotel in Haddington

We stayed one night and were made to feel very welcome . Location is perfect for town and free parking . Rooms are quiet ,comfy and clean  with good toiletries and good value for money . The breakfast was delicious and all the staff are friendly and professional- would stay again😊

Welcoming Stay

We had a fantastic meal for my Aunties 50th Birthday. Staff were so helpful allowing me early access to go in and decorate the table and keeping her cake stored for me. Food was very tasty, large portions and piping hot. We waited quite a while for desserts to be served but that can be beneficial after a large meal. Only down side was out table was not cleared of dessert plates and glasses until after some of our party had left. A special thank you to Ross nothing was too much trouble 1st  class customer service and a real credit to the business. We will definitely return.
